There is nothing here for you There is nothing left for me Cause the dying is the proof ..I kill everything I see And now no one gives a damn But still no one gets away I kill everyone I can Do it every single day I'm coming like a storm I reign with pain and grief My living his a war What I cross is what I bleed So where you gonna run There's no place you can hide For my staircase to the Sun I'm stacking bodies to the sky It was the summer of 2002 when Alabama Thunderpussy's Erik Larson and Sixty Watt Shaman's Pete Champel (at the time touring together, go figure) shared the initial ideals of what was to begin an interesting trip. Gorging on a buffet of Crowbar (now fellow labelmates), St. Vitus, Entombed, The Obsessed and more, the duo set out to craft a recording that would merge their doom, sludge and all things heavy background into a musical canvas that would excite and ignite. The birth of The Mighty Nimbus was upon us and all was good... Hellride Music says, "The Mighty Nimbus sends shivers down my spine and commands respect." No doubt appealing to fans of Black Label Society, Down, Black Sabbath and High On Fire, this downtuned offering also offers highly memorable melody, delicately layered guitar harmonies and blues based riffs that showcase not only the band's depth but highly credible musicianship. The Mighty Nimbus, based in Minnesota, have already premiered their sounds at 2004's Emissions of the Monolithe Festival alongside Orange Goblin, Pelican, Place of Skulls, YOB, Dixie Witch and more. They hit the road February 2005 for Candlelight Records USA's first label tour, with Pro-Pain, Crowbar, and Entombed.

lets start the buzz early ;) from www.lordsofmetal.nl From the first note you hear, you know this is marvellous! This is stoner rock with doom elements in the vein of bands like St. Vitus, The Obsessed and Crowbar. The Mighty Nimbus was founded in 2002 and comprises members from all across North America. Amongst them not the least of them. What to think about vocalist Dan Soren and guitar player Minnesota Pete Campbell, both members of the entrancing, with southern power grooving band Sixty Watt Shaman? Those who ever heard their 'Reason To Live' (2002) know that it was an essential record for Corrosion Of Conformity fans like me. Furthermore we find Erik Larson of Alabama Thunder Pussy in their line-up. Andy Campbell (drums) and Dinis deCarvalho complete this powerful band. The ten tracks on this debut all have that sloughy and sucking sound of sludge, doom, stoner and southern rock at the same time. They provide us with a bunch of matchless groovy rock with psychedelic guitars, chunky drums and vocals after three bottles of Jack Daniels. This is a visit at the pub translated in nebular musical contours. Just the blues in that voice, exactly this despair in glissando guitar-solos, just that unwieldy rhythm with unremitting drive one hour long. The heritage of Black Label Society and Down has come to life again. And how! Whether it happens in flaming rockers as 'Everything I See' and 'Raising The Mammoth' or in a track like 'I'll Never Weep' where the blues with capital B is practised in a tremendously intense way, The Mighty Nimbus sends shivers down my spine and commands respect. Having three guitarists in their ranks one gets blown away by their paradise of sensitive expression. In between all this heavy stuff one finds a short piano intermezzo 'Fenrir'. The influences of Crowbar are most perceptible in the slow dragged along 'Sacrament Of The Sick'. A masterly debut of an energetic band: The Almighty Nimbus! Rating 90/100
