The secret path to bypass most of Chocolate Island, this hidden level is now flooded in lava. Different challenges await Mario in different sections of the cavern, with shifting walls and football chucks providing the starting challenges while a blarg filled lava ride and other dangers lurking in still deeper areas. Edit: Yes, going under the piranha plant while riding the skull boat at 1:29 is legit, even if it does not look like it. Mario is technically one space lower than he appears for purposes of making contact with sprites.

The epic confrontation with Bowser. Like the original level, you twice pick through a series of four rooms before navigating the darkened final stretch that leads to Bowser. What I did for is compress and combine the video so that it includes all eight rooms in sequence, as opposed to a normal run through which would have only shown two of the rooms. Video cuts off just before the credits due to time, but since it's still the old credit sequence, nothing new is missing. Of note - in room four, the ground, walls, and spikes below the purple coins are an illusion. The challenge is trying to watch the top of the screen to see where it is safe to step without getting attacked by enemies.

Last of my custom Special Zones and likely the hardest. A multi-path, underground castle in the sprit of Mario 3's Dark World Fortress where almost near perfect precision is required to avoid the many traps and enemies. I picked what I felt was the quickest path. Like every level, done in one run.

A four season forest wonderland akin to Banjo Kazooie's Click Clock Woods and so many other games that have mined this theme. Large lakes of water that flood the land in spring dry out in the summer where new plant life opens and closes paths. Fall provides fallen logs to progress further while winter is covered in deep snow banks. Meanwhile, the enemies themselves adapt in their own ways. This video shows the path to the key.

My version of Wendy's Castle. A claustrophobic nightmare where wide open areas give way too falling ceilings, giant smashing pile drivers, and crushing spike pillars. The castle is also guarded by almost every variety of charging chucks, ensuring continuous difficulty in this lengthy level.

The final level before Bowser. Most of the difficulty in the first half comes from magikoopas and yellow block walls slowing progress while bony beetles close in on Mario. Cape does negate a bit of the challenge though. The second half is a tribute to the final level of Yoshi's Island where Kamek hassles Yoshi with a slow moving screen.
