The late Ms. Lucretia Urtula combined two popular dances, pandanggo sa ilaw and oasioas. Pandanggo Sa Ilaw: From the province of Mindoro, dancers reveal their virtuosity and grace by balancing three lighted oil lamps on their heads and on the backs of their hands as they execute waltz-like steps. Oasioas: Oasioas means 'to swing' in the Pangasinan dialect, it carries the same tempo and musical theme as pandanggo sa ilaw.

PANDANGGO has three stories with parallel themes converging in one event, the Kasilonawan Festival in Obando: a career woman learning to dance tango who is torn between her dance partner and live-in partner has to choose the man who will satisfy her dream of raising a family; a wife whose wish to conceive a baby boy to make her husband happy brings her feet to the festival, but fate has other plans of bringing the child into her life; and a modern woman who, amidst her medical condition that might render her childless for the rest of her life, finds connection with an ancient lore about fertility.

University of Maryland, College Park Filipino Cultural Association HAPUNAN 28th Annual Philippine Culture Night April 1, 2006 This 'dance with lights' comes from the island or Mindoro. The female dancers gracefully and skillfully balance three tinghoy, oil lamps, on their heads and backs of their hands. Oasiwas, means 'swinging' and comes from Lingayan, Pangasinan. After a good catch, fishermen and villagers celebrate by swinging and circling lighted lamps wrapped in fishnet.
