Mar 21, 2012 - DMCA was passed in 1998 and it didn't stop YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter from flourishing. User content based websites are naturally user regulated sites. For example, any child pornography on YouTube will be flagged immediately for takedown. Continue with your hyperbole though, it seems to have worked.

William LaSalle Says:

Apr 7, 2012 - If you are old enough to vote and your senator or represenative states or makes it known he is for any type of restrictions on the internet, you need to actively campaign against him or her every time he or she is running for any office for the rest of your life. If you live in Arizona, you should be calling the governor telling him the new bill is just wrong and stupid and unconstitutional for it violates the freedom of speech guarenteed by the constitution. This is not Communist China.

StarOfSagittarius1 Says:

Jun 2, 2012 - Over 10% of YT users are suspected of terrorism. The UN is going to be in charge of monitoring the internet, They will be going after fraud and scam artists. What else will they do to the internet?

StarOfSagittarius1 Says:

Jun 2, 2012 - Sadly to say, the internet will be censored. YT has already put hinderance features into the comments left by users. Certain comments made cannot be posted. Try giving YT a stress test for a week, by posting outrageous comments that are flamitory in nature, and see what happens.

sedgie09 Says:

Jun 18, 2012 - Well censoring the net wouldn't that coincide with our rights of Freedom of information ACT?

madtrade Says:

Jun 23, 2012 - and china have less prisonners then america...

DuaneEH Says:

Jun 23, 2012 - I'd qualify that: China has less "official" prisoners than the U.S. When two countries report things differently you can't directly compare the numbers. ; ) (Note: I didn't look it up to verify the numbers).

thejetdrvr Says:

Jul 2, 2012 - Fuck the fucking fuckers. censor that fuck face.

Aug 9, 2012 - Just as we censor movies and the media, so that dangerous or harmful material is suppressed, so too should we censor the Internet. Then it will become a truly positive force in our lives.

MaeganG1803 Says:

Aug 11, 2012 - It is not right to censor the internet. The U.S is built around the concept of freedom. We are supposed to be "the land of the free." If the government tries to sensor it, all hell will break loose. If people can not use the net to do what they want, that will not increase music, movie, and videogame sales. It won't help the economy. It will cause people to cancel their internet service all together or just constantly find ways around the bans.

highstar321 Says:

oversunset95 Says:

Sep 20, 2012 - a) The pornography is probably harmful to those who watch it, especially if they are children. b) Because the Internet is essentially anonymous, anybody can go online and write anything they want about other people. The Internet harassment has created many problems for innocent people. c) If dangerous extremist groups were to publish views of their propaganda in books and magazines, they could be challenged. I believe that the Internet should be subject to censorship.

Michael Mcgee Says:

Oct 24, 2012 - copy rights for the purpose of gaining financial power against the consumer and populace is wrong.Serving the consumer first in which green toiler paper is just a means to an end is not .Remember what happen to Marie Antoinette and King Louie and the rest of the court ? For controlling the populace for their luxury ?

Anuojat Says:

Oct 26, 2012 - "Internet Censorship Is the Wrong Answer to Online Piracy" Duuh! I understood this after a history class about alcohol prohibition! :D It just bunch big government BS, not new just slapped over a differant industry :)

BlackStarHer0 Says:

Jan 2, 2013 - To the opinionated person who listed opinions why the internet should be censored. Those are opinions. In my opinion people like you are backwards thinking and should be banned from the country, but you arent. In my opinion if you dont like being talked about on the interwebs then gtfo. In my opinion i should kill you but i dont. So stop stating opinions for arguments

archie977 Says:

Jan 10, 2013 - if i could find an advertiser i would kill the sack of shit and not feel a thing just like walking to the candy store

Feb 18, 2013 - He mentioned they don't take down whole websites without due process, really?!... that's EXACTLY what they did with Megaupload, took the site down criminally without due process.

William Simmons Says:

Apr 11, 2013 - how much moor are we gona take of this gov. befor we stand up to this pissy ass gov and this president. wake up shepeol.

Coleaptera Says:

Apr 29, 2013 - Hey! I go to TV Tropes too. I love that site. I also recently got hooked on Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick. If any of them was penalized for "copyright infringement", than it is going too far. They obviously share some copyrighted material for the purposse of discussion and critiquing. That goes under fair use, so there should be protection from punishment.

Coleaptera Says:

Apr 29, 2013 - This video is really good. I'm even impressed by how thoughtful the comments are. 0:33 My thoughts exacly. Blocking things automaticly does violate our rights to due process. I am so glad somebody else said that. That guy really seems to know the law. The Bill of Rights gives citizens the right to a trial and protection from unreasonable search and siezure. I feel like it has been violated. Censorship infringes on free speech, witch is also in the Bill of Rights. This is serious.
