Danka Lahore - Marouan Ben Abdallah - Piano Recital The Annemarie-Schimmel-Haus, the German cultural centre in Lahore, and the Hungarian Embassy Islamabad are organising a classical piano recital with the Hungarian pianist on Saturday evening at the Annemarie-Schimmel-Haus. Named one of the Musicians of the Year 2005 by the Hungarian National Classical Music Radio, the 25-year-old pianist Marouan BEN ABDALLAH is a heir to the great Hungarian piano tradition of Franz Liszt. Native of Rabat, Morocco, he started playing the piano at the age of 4 with his Hungarian mother and when he was 13 he went to Budapest to continue his musical studies. At the age of 22, his performance of Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra brought the cheering audience to its feet. Since winning the Andorra International Piano Competition in 2003, Marouan BENABDALLAH has been heard among other countries in Germany, France Hungary, Morocco, India and in the USA. He is an artist of the highest sensitivity, imagination and focus, combining consummate musicality with great fire and enthusiasm.
