Mar 20, 2008 - I think it's, "Et tu, charlie?" Additionally: does he say, "Vote for Charlie O'Brien, get poor Georgie off the MTA"? Listen closely... it's supposed to be the other way around.

stoopidegg Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - your right, on the original recording he says vote for georgie o'brien, but at the end of the song he says "that you charlie?"

PhillipCreeper Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - LOL! Good on Ubi!

tennispirate Says:

Mar 23, 2008 - It sounds to me like "Et tu, Charlie", like "Et tu, Brute" from Julius Caesar... but I could be wrong. *shrug*

scoobysnack8 Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - I love the song, but can't the wife just hand him money inside his lunch

zaaritha Says:

Mar 29, 2008 - They made a lot of good songs with good lyrics!

mybarnyourbarn Says:

Apr 1, 2008 - Never heard of poetic license? Don't be so rational when you listen to music!

p1mpernel Says:

Apr 24, 2008 - Actually, it was for Walter A. O'Brien (whose name was originally in the song). A rumor spread that he was a Communist, ruining at least one folk singer who revived the song. The Kingston Trio changed the name to avoid trouble.

Apr 29, 2008 - I always thought this was a cool song. Funny, but good! Thanks for posting it. 5 stars to you from, George Vreeland Hill

May 2, 2008 - ha the guy in the middle is the best

HickysBoy Says:

May 3, 2008 - Great musical entertainment. Lots of sound from three guys, two guitars and a banjo. Real music - lyrics, melody, harmony and rhythm. None of those but rhythm left these days.

dao3rd Says:

May 4, 2008 - This is one of the best "folk" groups ever. I used to have all their albums and 45's. I still remember how crazy my friends and I were over them.

trevor40 Says:

May 4, 2008 - This must have been lots of fun for the Kingston Trio :-) singing great timeless songs

corndogflog Says:

May 4, 2008 - ...on the radio

turntablesihs008 Says:

May 7, 2008 - when you said albums and 45's what are 45's

redsoxocd92 Says:

May 24, 2008 - haha...seriously...you have to do this when you get off the red line at Quincy Center and some other places. If they increase the fare for the MBTA one more time I will scream (and try to organize a protest...and probably fail).

doctordoowop Says:

May 24, 2008 - This is one of best live clips I have ever seen. It sounds EXACTLY like the record. They got this good, & started the"folk" craze, because they were so great live.

LordAzrael21 Says:

Jun 1, 2008 - lool :D

yodalover557 Says:

Jun 2, 2008 - i think you mean lol:D

jasonthebiker Says:

Jun 3, 2008 - LOL Why are you always in the back?

steveberl Says:

Jun 5, 2008 - So what is that 4 string instrument the guy in the middle is playing? It's like a small 4 string guitar, or a giant ukelele?

JoeHession918 Says:

Jun 13, 2008 - i remember{im only 17 and it wasnt that long ago id say within the last 2years} i alaways laughed at this because on the red line they charged you to get off of the last to stops Quincy Adams and Braintree, and i never payed to get off always snuck out, they got rid of that now though with the induction of the charlie cards

GrossmeisterD Says:

Jun 13, 2008 - Best version of the song that I've ever heard was the one from the tv series "Malcolm in the Middle". =)

Jaybird1103 Says:

Jun 13, 2008 - It is a tenor guitar, made by Martin. A few years later, Nick Reynolds, the one playing the tenor guitar and singing, got another one and had his old one retrofitted to make an 8-stringed tenor guitar.

civicness Says:

Jun 15, 2008 - That was an amzing version. I saw that!
