Mar 30, 2008 - But remember that this record only expresses the feelings of a very young girl. That is why it is so beautiful--because it's true. "Beauty is truth, truth beauty." Watch girls of that age today. Nothing has changed, nor should it. Soon they will also identify with "You Don't Own Me."

Mar 30, 2008 - I'll check that out but I don't think this one could be topped myself!

Mar 30, 2008 - Who sings song's like this nowadays. I have a 16 yr old who listens to oldies and agrees with me. The way singer's expressed themselve back then were really true. Feelings and emotion's always played a hand when these song's were written.

May 21, 2008 - Sorry, I did not mean to thumb down your comment, that was an accident wesinalabama. I meant to reply, I heard Marcie did not like the touring aspect of the music. But knowing how producers and others could be with pretty young female singers (and even males), I would almost bet there was something else that bothered her much more that she doesn't dare mention.

May 25, 2008 - To Whitedovie: I have several hundred 45's of the 50's,60's and 70's in great condition.I'll never sell any of them until I can get them all on CD's. Some people, like me, love vinyl. Find a good phonograph ( they still sell them ) and enjoy!

Jun 14, 2008 - What a great song, and it puts me in a place and time so vididly. Early 1963, my parents driving me down to Miami, and I can still remember the back of our mint green 1961 Ford Falcon. What an an innocent era! A true classic! Thanks for posting it.

Jul 27, 2008 - Wow, we did the same trip in a two tone 1955 Super 98 Oldmobile, what fantastic memories, kids born on the wake of WWII lead true middle class lives, until the racial, social, sexual and political strife of the 60's catapulted us into new horizons...

Aug 6, 2008 - thanks for vid. I was 15 in '62. I had a crush on Bobby Gauthier (also 15) in school who just happened to sit "3 rows over and 2 seats down" (by Bobby Curtola also on you tube); so this was a perfect song for me back then. BobbyG was the cutest boy in school and I landed him :? he could really kiss n' stuff! me too lol. he looked a little like Bobby Curtola. I even looked a little like Marcie. now I sing this song to Robert Plant 'cause I guess ...'I'm not a kid anymore' hee hee. ☺
