Nov 17, 2008 - The trouble is that is not what he said "half way through the video". As an educator, I feel that it is important to get all the information I can from the original source. Therefore I searched for the entire video before I made any comments. I also read the original transcript. You can find links to both on the truthorfiction website. I don't think this cut-up clip or the full video proved that he is not a Christian. I also disagree with you that it proves that he despises Christianity.

Nov 17, 2008 - The case you're trying to make against Obama actually turns out to support him. The Bible should be mocked. It is a book full of unmitigated bull-fucking-shit. Finally a president is brave enough to criticize the Bible. This makes me support him more.

randyplanb Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - there is no christian that would say this crap and cdduplication i hope you wont find out that the devil and hell is real the hard way. Jesus, God, and Heaven is real

resolutionrevolution Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - Wow, You're quite the idiot. I hope you find out that heaven and hell are real, whilst in hell.

Seltransit Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - This video is joke. The bible = Fiction.

deritastudio Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I'm a Bible-believing Christian and I am utterly shocked and sickened by this video. Obama spoke the truth here, but fundy "christians" who worship American Imperialism serve only the Republican party, NOT God. Read "Jesus for President" by Shane Claibone and open your eyes to the TRUTH of the Gospel.

Panthro3000 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - prove it

randyplanb Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - prove what? that heaven and hell is real or obama is as flaky as a bowl of cornflakes?!

JeffLeChefski Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Watch the whole speech, he makes a compelling argument for the separation of church and state: A fundamental principle behind every modern democracy.

sugarpuddin88 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Religion & Scientology are like the fairy tales Mother Goose & Jack and the Bean stalk: Written to help the frightened little monkey's sleep at night The belief in one fairy tale over another is completely arbitrary - And depends on which frightening story you heard as a child In reality, people are simply afraid of the responsibility associated with having an "internal locus of control" - Thus, they invent saviors to hide behind when it gets dark out at night

cagefite007 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Seltransit: Please enlighten me, describe how the bible is fiction will you?

Marly61 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - OBAMA=ELITIST! Problem O's choices like Larry Summers, a deregulator, responsible for stripping the powers of the Glass-Steagall Act, crucial separation between investment and commercial banks. responsible for the larger Greenspan-like shadow cast that wedded us to the dogma of unregulated markets that has led toward the near catastrophe and what Mike Davis rightly calls the financial Katrina, two million fellow citizens being pushed into homelessness.

kenno19 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - dude, Jesus loves terrorists jus as he loves us, we all deserve condemnation we R as bad as each other, no one is worse then the other, Jesus is better then all of us and calls us2 love those who hate us. Luke 6:27-28 Jesus says But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. NIV- yes even terrorists and enemy's of America. I'd like to hear your thoughts.. In Christ Mark

kenno19 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Dude we are called to love! We are all idiots without Jesus, just as sinful as each other a! Instead of condemning lets pray for the lost...if we truly knew how bad hell was we would not want even our enemy's in hell.. In Christ Mark

Seltransit Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - It was your god(s) interpreted words written by man, with little, to no historical evidence to back it up. Not to mention most key terms, ideas and phrases of the bible have been lost in translation. I'm not one for debating on youtube. If you wish to discuss this further send me a message. Also i was using the word "fiction" loosely. Sorry if you took that literally, like you take the bible i assume?

LumbeeMariah Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - I disagree with you. GOD, JESUS, SATAN, HEAVEN, and HELL are real. The Bible says that a man who says their is no God in his hear is a fool.

LumbeeMariah Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - "heart"

taylorhnt Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - The post sent from LumbeeMariah are supposed to be sent from my account taylorhnt

redchango Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - I don't understand. Obama was right. What's the big deal?

francisco2020 Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - Thank God someone is finally speaking the truth about religion. And thank God for Obama. Yippy our new president

Nerava Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - Amen to that.

usernameUNAVBL Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - that's interesting because modern law stems from the law in the Bible as any educated lawyer would not, and Hammurabi's Law, the first known, is similar. So does he want to deny the foundation of law we have today? He's not reading his Law History. Yikes

ACS07 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - i could understand if an athiest or agnostic said these things but someone who claims to be Christian? hmmm 3 points to keep in mind w violence in the OT: 1. in OT, before Christ took on Flesh, thus before Christianity 2. a lot, if not all, not directly quoting God like Quran, but Moses who is fallible, who Christ corrects, perfects in NT 3. Christians view OT as fully inspired cuz it contains Jewish history, not b/c Christianity follows all the OT laws, rules (obviously)

ACS07 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5:1-12) promotes humility, meekness, justice, mercy, peace, and fortitude. so why is he mocking this and calling it "radical" ? the Iraq War, which i am against, can be debatable as just or not (i think unjust) but i do recall Muslims attacking Amer soil in name of God (contradicts Sermon on Mount) isn't Obama the one that voted that a baby may be left to die when surviving an abortion attempt? he's def not a Christian. and he mocks the Sermon on Mount

ACS07 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - "Blessed are the poor in spirit (humble)...blessed are those who mourn (what is wrong)...are the meek (humble)...hunger and thirst for righteousness ... merciful...pure in heart...peacemakers...." Our Blessed Lord, Mt 5:3-9 "Folks haven't been reading their Bibles." Obama yeah, that was pretty awful what Jesus said, haha.
