Dec 31, 2007 - Brother SRS, assalaamualaikum. it may be that you are mispronouncing the letters, and this may be making your throat hurt. Try and find someone who knows proper tajweed to listen to you recite the letters and tell you if it is correct. But if it is difficult for you, take it as a blessing, for the reward of reciting Qur'an is doubled for he who finds it difficult.

And pretend as if u are biting into an apple. For the Haa, smile tightly,like a joker smile, and then say Haaa. It's like you are fogging up a glass window with ur breath, or like there is a spicy hot pepper in ur mouth. insha Allah that helps a little bit. Don't stop reciting insha Allah. But maybe drink some tea with honey :)

Feb 17, 2008 - 2 tips for 3ayn and hhhaa both these letters come from the middle part of your throat, gayn and kha from the top part of your throat, and the other Ha and alif come from the bottom of your throat. for 3ayn, feel your adams apple, if you are pronouncing it right, your adams apple will move up. if your throat hurts, its probably wrong for hhhaa whisper to yourself "help" and keep whispering that, as quietly as possibly. the "hhh" sound that occurs, is the sound youre looking for = )(just louder)
