Oct 22, 2008 - Agree with you Thrust completely. Then what do you think of the trouble of installing linux - on the half way - you receive a message "No Hard Disks available"? In the board's setup I found an unknown drive X: I think that it is the HDD "writable area in BIOS"

kitsunde Says:

Oct 22, 2008 - English, speak it? You can compile with gcc type compilers on Windows, you don't have to use Visual Studio. When did food become an argument for what a computer can and can't do? You are the one who doesn't think before commnenting. Saying something like OS X can't compute "factorial of 100000 or more", on What? A 486? Windows CE? Your, mom? Please.

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 22, 2008 - For the sake of "dealing with children as they want" I wont answer - undergrad! Why dont you use your gcc on windows and linux on the same machine to do the same function? Python compiler on linux computed what it didnt do under windows By the way - under which OS does your small brain work (and your ...)? I want to shut it up (down)

kitsunde Says:

Oct 22, 2008 - For not answering you sure go to alot of trouble not not typing an answer. Performance still has nothing todo with the capabilities of an operating system, saying so is just ignorant. Yes I'm sure some code will run faster on one OS over another, but that's still besides this whole argument. You said "can't" don't make this into something it wasn't to begin with. References, heard of them? Considering you're American, your English is just a crime against mankind.

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 22, 2008 - Sure your english (obviously in the 1st sentence) can break Shakesperare's literature up. Sure your country can beat any other country in computer industry as well as in suicide percentage. Sure a 21 years kid who started already reading a book about "stl in c" is smarter than Bill Gate's and P Hellman's fellows Mr sausage - shut up and know that your professors are not even efficient to work as door keepers here.

kitsunde Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - Why do every argument our of your mouth revolve around something that's completely irrelevant to the issue at hand? No amount of false and/or old information your mighty googling skills can find has anything todo with anything. The only thing you are doing is showing people what a narrow-minded bigot you are. Oh and btw, that first sentence is called sarcasm, dear god..

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - Sarcasm of yourself or your nation? "why do every" - you need a kindergarten teacher for special english courses. Good that you make the mistake on the 1st sentence always! If you see it irrelevant - then your brain's OS needs to be reinstalled by a psychiatrist! I am not mocking you only! Find an idiot to convince him that you are a real college student not an animal in a school

kitsunde Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - "kindergarTen teacher", indeed. I'm not trying to convince you I'm a college student, you imbecile. You can attack my country and whatever else counts as a flaw in that strange world of yours, it doesn't make you right. Although I guess that's how you debate over there, we prefer to stick to actual issues. I know it's strange but its required to be right. Just flinging poo and yelling really loud doesn't do it. Being right makes you right not being older, whiter, more inbred or anything else.

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - Dont bug me by your stupid opinions When you grow older you will know what I mean! At least I didn't use your dirty words (a..) that you will write in your dissertation! Or you used this word to call your mom!

kitsunde Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - You don't use dirty words, like "idiot". Second of all I'm not 21 but it's irrelevant, age has nothing to do with if you are right or wrong. Thinking you are automatically right because you are older, have a higher position or is a man is pure lunacy. For the record I curse to my mom all the time, it's just words... Grown people are alowed to use a grownup language. Get over yourself.

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - 1st "idiot" is an appropreiate word (may be more) than you are! 2nd You are wrong because you dont know what you mean! 3rd Grown people can use "your grown up language" in your house as well as on your streets not in youtube! Your answer indicates that you really work on OS If (my_age > 18) then {use grown_up_words;} else wait(1_more_year)

kitsunde Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - "If (my_age > 18) then {use grown_up_words;} else wait(1_more_year)" Ahahahahaha. Not only your sentences are inconsistent and incoherent your pseudocode follows the same pattern, it's amazing. My answers indicate nothing, infact you got almost everything wrong which makes your biggotry even more hillarious.

romanorthodox Says:

Oct 23, 2008 - Wash your teeth then sleep baby

frvfilms Says:

Oct 26, 2008 - the master aka linus torvalds

diegoedv Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - Yeah! He's the man, the best ever =D

frvfilms Says:

Oct 27, 2008 - king of the geeks, bill, and Steve don't have not anything on him.

senfo Says:

Oct 31, 2008 - So whatever became of this? Did Google make the switch?

iron496 Says:

Nov 1, 2008 - THIS IS SO LONG

valdes1978 Says:

Nov 12, 2008 - I find this talk amazing. There are so many people that like to appear smarter then they are. Linux is not one of them. I like his thoughts about trust. I think it is important to find teachers we trust and stay away from those that think they are smarter then everybody and are really not.

ptran001 Says:

Nov 12, 2008 - linus is pretty cute

fuhkqueue Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - That was an hour of my life I'll never get back. All he did was establish that version control software sucks, not why one would want to use git. At least he managed to appear like an arrogant, smug, insecure jackass. Linus must be fun at parties and a joy to work with in Beaverton.

fuhkqueue Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - No he wasn't, moron. Get your facts straight before mommy lets you use her computer.

phaobr Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Bill and steve are not geeks, they're entrepreneurs, they may know about computers, but they're are far away of being geeks or hackers, that is why they don't care about their's software quality.

vicarage2 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Opinionated, and unconvincing as to why Git would be better. Saying you only accept changes from trusted colleagues, and bouncing awkward changes back to them only works if you are the alpha male in a programming team.

dasil003 Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - He's a bad speaker, so you're getting hung up on irrelevant details (how it helps Linus) while missing the benefits that apply to everything from corporate projects to small team projects and even individual projects. The cheap branching and merging is incredible. Even for a solo dev, the performance, offline capabilities, and variety of tools to manipulate the tree are unbelievable. Convincing yourself that it doesn't live up to the hype is retarded, go try it, you won't be disappointed.
