Nov 11, 2008 - Why is it a failure? Because there aren't giant American flags up everywhere in Iraq? I hate to be the one to break this to you, but if an Iraqi is in the possession of an American flag, he's probably burning it. We went in to get rid of Saddam's nukes, although it was ostensibly for revenge, and now that we know he doesn't have any, why stay? If you aren't going to count that as a win, then it's only because we didn't really go in with any kind of goal. If we haven't won already, we never will

Nov 16, 2008 - Nebraska is Bruce's best album. He got in trouble with his record label, Columbia Records, for insisting that they shelve the studio version of Nebraska that was already in the can and use his version that he recorded in his home studio. Coming off the success of Born to Run, Columbia agreed and Nebraska was a huge commercial flop. It's why they insisted on a double album with several hits which resulted in The River.

Nov 18, 2008 - bartelby, you are completely wrong. bruce released Nebraska in 1982 as the follow-up to 1980's The River (his first #1 album). Nebraska was his second #1 album.
RuskNation61 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - A really great and underevaluated song. The song that I loved so much when I heard it in 1983. I bought the LP and it was the first of Bruce. Much better than Born in the USA, for me. Unfortunately little known in Europe.

Nov 20, 2008 - "I got a job and tried to put my money away, but I got debts that no honest man can pay......." What a great line from a beautiful, haunting song.
