Jul 13, 2008 - I wouldn't consider China to be a good model of Communism. The USSR was under Lenin, but Stalin got power hungry and ruined it. Now Cuba, there's a country for you ;)!

HIGHVOLTAGE939 Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - Theoretical communism has NEVER existed..not in china, not in Russia, and certainly not in Cuba....In true Communism the poor overtake the rich, which is supposed to make everyone equal...but since people get power hungry the system fails when a strong leader takes over and turns it into more of a dictatorship...so you're all wrong....Yay Capitalism!

Aug 9, 2008 - a r all nuts, Russia was a brutal dictatorship eversince 1921, when it implemented the New Economic Policy and Lenin with Trotsky ordered the slaying of the Krostand workers who demonstrated against the bolsheviks.China has 60.000.000 dead on its records and obviously no freedom or eqaulity at all. All these regimes are totalitarian, bureaucratic and ruled by the communist party, which os accountable to noone. If you want real sosialist examples study the anarchists revolution of 1936 in spain.

TabithaMcCleod Says:

Oct 4, 2008 - I used to follow The Clash as much as I could whilst being a [reluctant] schoolgirl...one of the things I procured were the lyrics to this track handwritten by Joe. Everyone knows the lyrics NOW but back then I was defs ahead of the pack & could sing the riht songs. Hell, I did that more often than JS himself [RIP our PunkLord]

foratin1 Says:

Nov 2, 2008 - People are actually taken in by The Clash. But many do seem to prefer their "revolution" fake, convenient, platitude-ridden and (in the case of The Clash) utterly safe and meaningless. "Hey! Listen to this amazing upper middle-clarse Private School toff desperately pretending to be "street" and screaming empty slogans into the void from his own fantasy world, false self-image and easy feel-good factor". Something real was hijacked and castrated by an English Middle Class bullshitter - again.

gargano3000 Says:

Nov 11, 2008 - a shadow of the pistols

AppoCC119 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - The Clash are pretty much the only original punkband to stand for a real, realistic view, not the immature mini-anarchism of the Pistols or the "smash stuff up" of dozens of other punkbands, but an actual, extremely mature and intelligent view on the world in both social and geo-political forms. Listen to Ghetto Defendant, Washington Bullets, This is England, Stop the World or Career Opportunities (just to mention a few) and come back.

Blanqueador Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - rest in peace joe!

AppoCC119 Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - A ridiculous notion. I wish not to compare The Clash with the Pistols, as surely this is not what neither Strummer nor Lydon would want, but to claim that the Clash is a shadow the Pistols, is truly ridiculous. Greatly inspired, owing much to the Pistols, yes, but a shadow of them? Seriously, have you hear about a little album called London Calling, or Sandinista? The Calsh grew from their punk origins to become one of the most musically diverse and skilled bands ever.

bobwilsonanchorman Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - Pistols one/well maybe two or three hit wonders. The Clash the most authentic British band of all time. I rest my case.
