Dec 20, 2008 - The song is only about the thoughts, emotions, and feelings of one person. When the lyrics talk of "lay down my life for you and I" is still refering to the actions of the one person. In the context of the movie that song is referring to a person who has lost everyone that was important to him. He would lay down his life because he wanted to die because of his loss but then would do the same for the people closest to him. This was just who we was.

Jan 6, 2009 - If memory serves, David Sanborn & Eric Clapton did all the soundtracks for Lethal Weapon's 1 - 4 but a few other legends showed up as well. George Harrison did "Cheer Down" for LW 2. Elton John & Eric did "Simple Life" for LW 3. And Sting & Eric did "It's Probably Me" which was also for LW 3. All of them were terrific songs.
