The Furai, which celebrates 40 years of Mazda's rotary engine and international motorsports heritage is seen here in full intimate detail. Furai is the latest in the Nagare design series from Mazda introduced at the 2008 Detroit AutoShow (NAIAS). Based on a US Le Mans race series Courage C65 chassis and featuring a 3 rotor rotary engine fueled by ethanol. Hear the full sound these rotors make in this intimate video.

Nov 14, 2008 - i dont think it could smoke a buggatti. the furai has 0-60mph in 3.2 sec, buggatti is 0-60 in 2.5 sec. Furai goes upto 172 mph, bugatti goes up to 252 mph. buggatti is miles faster. still... this LOOKS faster, even when its standing still it looks like is going supersonic lol

Nov 15, 2008 - Compared to the Veyron, the Furai is more like a proper race car: very light weight with minimal production car baggage... It might not out drag it, but it's likely to leave it behind in a lap of Nurburgring Nordschleife.
