Jul 18, 2008 - Rest in peace Bobby!
PatrickLars Says:
Aug 3, 2008 - There will be a movie about the great Bobby Fischer, a Hollywood movie folks! Named, "Bobby Fischer goes to war". 2010 is the release date. After reviewing some of the threads, this will be like a rip-off of the movie, "A beautiful mind". More like a genius-turned-paranoid theme.

Aug 10, 2008 - for bobby it was reasonable that he never defend his title and did all to avoid the world championship against karpow.he was a great player but there is no doubt that he hadn't a real chance against him. he knowed good that he would get absolutly destroyed in that match.

Aug 12, 2008 - idiot first learn your grammar, there is no such word as knowed its knew, then comment on Fischers playing ability
maddes111 Says:
Aug 12, 2008 - first of all you know nothing about chess otherwise you would agree with me that he wouldn't had a chance against karpow. i'm not a native speaker in the english language and it's not self-evident that everybody speaks your language perfect. who of both of us is the idiot now?
fuspritta345 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - fischer was brilliant so was kasparov but morphy is the greatest ever.

Aug 20, 2008 - I'm going with both of you. Sorry = /
darkshinobi29 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - morphy is one of my favorite players too.
maddes111 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - karpow was a chessplayer of a new generation! his chess had hardly weaknesses.a nightmare for any attking chessplayer. kasparov may be the best player in history of chess, played 4 world championships and altogether 173 games against karpow. kasparows advance was very little what reveals a lot about karpows playing ability. after kasparow he was the strongest grand master of the 80s and much to strong for fischer.
maddes111 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - attacking chess player
darkshinobi29 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - Fisher too was also a master of a new generation. He was 15 when he became a GM. He was the top player in the US by the age of 13. On the world championship he dominated the GMs of his day beating the russian and danish GMs 6-0. Such was unheard of at the time. Poor Bobby self distructed due to mental illness. Perhaps if he was given help when he needed it the most we could have an answer on who was better.
henni1964 Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - Yes, I agree but of course Fischer inventend chess new in the seventies while having studied deeply the achievements of the chess masters of the past. The chess world never before and after Fischer saw such a devotion to chess in a highly gifted person. THIS I guess makes him immortal. Well, take a look at "Schachversand Niggemann". Under the keyword Morphy you will find 16 entries in the books section.

Aug 25, 2008 - Fischer is a chess phenomenon, not just a very powerful player...He 'conquered' the game itself at his best. The same happen in kasparov's and karpov's era; they were unstoppable...Now we have anand & kramnik (i hope morozevich continues his punches :) ) to rule the chess world... In the past we had lasker, steinitz, capablanca & aljehin. But there was only one player in history, who smashed his opponents with ridiculus ease. Players feared him, doesnt played him except with extra piece..P.M.

Nimzomyth68 Says:
Oct 29, 2008 - I think if Fischer had took on Karpov in 75 he would have won, but it would have been close. Karpov's strength was that he continued to improve. I think if they played each other at a later date, Karpov would win. But, who will ever know.
fatesofgreedom Says:
Nov 15, 2008 - That's an interesting hypothesis. I would say I agree with it.
PAPILLION71 Says:
Jul 11, 2008 - He was a great chess master, but no matter how great you are at anything in life you should never be this cocky, arrogant & inconsiderate. Fischer's ego was off the charts, it's & odd thing to see that the one thing he seems not to be able to do is live in the moment. He's always rushing, watch checking & slighting folks-sad.
