Patrick Dempsey (Robert) and Amy Adams (Giselle) dance at the ball to Jon McLaughlin's "So Close" movie clip from Disney's Enchanted. (Also starring James Marsden, Susan Sarandon, & Idina Menzel.) It's still not the greatest quality, but better than the other videos of this scene. Enjoy! Lyrics: You're in my arms And all the world is calm The music playing on for only two So close together And when I'm with you So close to feeling alive As life goes by Romantic dreams will start So I bid mine goodbye and never knew So close was waiting, waiting here with you And now forever I know All that I wanted to hold you So close So close to reaching that famous happy end Almost believing this was not pretend And now you're beside me and look how far we've come So far we are so close How could I face the faceless days If I should lose you now? We're so close To reaching that famous happy end And almost believing this was not pretend Let's go on dreaming for we know we are So close So close And still so far All rights & credit to Disney!

Nov 11, 2008 - Jon McLaughlin sang it, but Stephen Schwartz is the genius behind it. He wrote the music and lyrics. And he sang it at his concert. =)

NewYorkS4U Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - What's interesting about this scene is that Giselle was dressed like a fish-out-of-water character throughout the whole film, and even when she's at the ball, she's still that, excpet the wardrobe's the other way around.

allieree Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - Since Disney presented 'Snow White,' 'Cinderella', 'Sleeping Beauty' etc. little girls--and little girls who are now women--want to be a Princess, and find their Prince. 'Enchanted' finds that longing, and exposes that desire for everlasting love and happy endings.

DorothyParkerWannabe Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Yes, it's just a simple waltz. It's pretty easy to learn. If you want to see some excellent waltzing, look up Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers videos (Never Gonna Dance is their best, I think). No one's been able to match the magical chemistry they had together.

Nov 20, 2008 - i wish i can dance with the one i love in a beautiful place like that..

pizzasliceproduction Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - It's a Viennese Waltz. Dancers dance in a circle. Difficulty level is medium to challenging. Dizzying, when done to the speed of the music.

Nov 21, 2008 - So beautiful :)

LTCJeffWhite Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - I don't understand this waltz -- they are generally in 3/4 time -- three beats per measure -- but this one is in some sort of square time, like 2/2, or 4/4. Not a traditional waltz at all. They dance it beautifully (she's a genius) - but it's no waltz I ever saw or heard. Isn't Amy Adams so lovely here? Simplicity and sincerety are her secret weapons.
