Nov 8, 2008 - i might hav 1 but i'm kinda scared...does a root canal hurt

leenie6000 Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - Umm depends on how much novicane. If your dentist is good they will use a small thin needle and give enough novicane so that you can't feel anything. If after the novicane has kicked in and your dentist starts the procedure and it still hurts ask for some numbing gel or novicane but other than that you will be jsut fine!!! :)

Navimaster Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - did it hurt?

Nov 9, 2008 - Dr.Jerry: my front teeth dose not meet when I close them .. I had my upper front tooth root canaled, I dont like the look of the crown .. is it ok to leave it un crowned? or do I have other options?

Unknnnnn Says:

Nov 10, 2008 - lol I just had it done ^^ The most annoying part is that 2 hours later I still can't feel left part of my face. Eating is not an option cos I may bite a part of my tongue off and not even be aware of it. Can't talk properly either :/ And I drull all over the place.

Nov 10, 2008 - I had a root canal once, and i was looking at some of these comments, and like most people said, it didn't hurt at all, only a little sore after, the only trouble was i had it done in four appointments x_X i advise people not to worry, and you'll only be in more pain if you leave it.

Varghjarta Says:

Nov 11, 2008 - It depends on you, if your typically very sensitive and the shots usually have a hard time numbing you then.. maybe.. I just had this done today, it was not a very happy experience :(. You might be fine though, good luck!

Nov 13, 2008 - RCT is the most boring procedure for the nurse, being a dental nurse myself, I know. The only pain for the patient is having their mouth open for such a long period of time, it gets achey, that's the most pain you get. Afterwards it can be sore and a little sensitive but should be fine. It's a very boring and lengthy procedure.

Nov 14, 2008 - I had a root canal yesterday and i'm going to have another on next week! My dentist is AMAZING!!! I couldn't even feel the needle when he numbed me, i've had shots in my mouth before and I ALWAYS felt it.

FidahMadden Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - plese reply me,,how much is the cost??

BBNYC4EVER Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - i had a root canal done it does not hurt, the thing that hurts is the niddle, but if the ejection is gonna cause u not to feel any other pain later on it is well wroth it. It takes a while to complete the persudure u do it in one day but it take a while, i had to go in for two vists. U may feel a little sore or numb after it put it will pass u can take advil or tyleno for the pain

getoffmydickbitchez Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - bout $1,000 depends where though

mystery787nma Says:

Nov 16, 2008 - i had it when i was nine i felt nothing even when they put the needle in i asked when will they put it in my mouth and they already did

kata1207 Says:

Nov 16, 2008 - I live in nz and i have to say you're lying or mistyped the amount of money. It costs around NZ$800-1500 depending on where you get it done minus the bleaching process and if you're under 18 you get govt funding ie. it's free for under-18s. If you go to specialists it'll be more expensive. I'm getting a root canal done over 6 months (coz it's imflammed or whatever i can't really remember) and hello, it's not THAT expensive

kata1207 Says:

Nov 16, 2008 - It seems like I'm the only one not worrying about the pain... What I'm worried about is discolouring (mine has discoloured a bit already and I'm getting it bleached) and how long the bleaching would last. Also how I can maintain my root-canal treated tooth coz it's pretty weak and prone to excavation. All my teeth are crap but I really don't wanna lose them, especially after I got four extracted for braces

Mathasen Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I just did it yesterday... and I feel great lool.. didnt hurt or nothing.. and I paid 228$

yosefchai787 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - i just got a root canal yesterday, it didnt hurt! i now have to go back for the post and crown!!!! just for comparison.. i am paying $1655 for root canal, post, and crown! whatr other prices out there?

Goyagirl99 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - I just got a root canal today and it did not hurt at all, you have to know that the nerve in the tooth that they are going to work on is dead so you won't feel anything. They will numb the area so you will feel the pinch of the needle and that is all. When you are done you feel a bit sore but that is to be expected. You will need to chew on the oppisite side of your mouth for a few days. I too will need to get a crown put in. I paid $450.00 for my RC and Insurance took care of the rest.
