Nov 22, 2008 - i dont understand the observing part
tmarti69 Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - I have my own theory click on my name its in the comments in the lower left. Basically think of time space as photo of a moment and a runner in that photo is motion blur, but because time space also determines direction that two also blurs. So particles only appear to be waves until they find and hit something. If something slows your movement in a photo it shows up more clearly thats what the observing sensor is doing.
tommyk77 Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - Well, the electrons made the interference pattern without an observer and didn't with one. The results are still contradictory, no matter what the moment in between is.

Nov 23, 2008 - The universe has let me down.
tmarti69 Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - The experiment all ready has an observer the camera or the audience, so observation has nothing to do with it. Its just a spooky way for dr. quantum to sell the magic. Its only when the sensor that causes a slight slowing or interaction that the electron behaves more particle like. The cosmology I am proposing the particle doesnt diffuse as much into space time and shoots a little straighter like the marble. Click on my name to long to post over and over again. Anotherversion video above

Nov 24, 2008 - Ok so 2 things, first of all, thats not your theory, you've taken part of an example to describe a theory and then put your own take on it, which is wrong. Second, observation has everything to do with it, *to observe on a microscopic level* you need light or a photon to hit an electron, this interferes with the original path of the electron.
GC8 Says:
Nov 24, 2008 - Are the experts telling me that a photographic plate would show an "interfference pattern" exposure, and then a different plate would develope a "double-slit" exposure, depending on how the experiment is conducted?
tmarti69 Says:
Nov 24, 2008 - Im open to your argument please be more detailed then that. I have been on my own page. My impression is that the experiment is always consistent a random photon even on an occasional micro scale would make it habitually inconsistent. With light all around it would alter it all the time.

Nov 25, 2008 - Samething happens when you predict future to someone AND BY KNOWING IT, IT CAN BE CHANGED. Or a date with a girl, more you fear, scared that she might turn on you, more chance that it will happen.

Nov 26, 2008 - maybe matter is intelligent.
Petallion Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - The electron dectector would have had to interact with one of the electrons, slowing it down. The other electron would be slightly ahead , so they wouldn't be able to interfere with each other to create an interference pattern .

Nov 27, 2008 - I've watched this video about 30 times. I drew pictures of each individual experiment to help my mind understand the information provided. This video is a load of vague bull shit. Don't get me wrong, it may very well be God and human conscious effects the electron activity, (actually, I do believe this myself, as I have tested such things), but this video is only a suggestion. Its not scientific at all. Obviously, somebody has an agenda to trick people. This video does to try "peek" and see God.

Nov 28, 2008 - THis is a realy good way of explaining the conundrum, and contradiction. this is not posing answers, but an accepted mystery by anyone with physics experience. Top those that comment in the method and findings as non scientific... read more... this is just an introduction to the question. it's an obsrvation, with an inference. It's greatest claim, is to claim that we don't understand. Read more, learn more before you comment negatively.
gmpep3 Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - good thought, but I'm pretty sure they thought of that. I read about an experiement that was devised where the particle acted as both wave and particle at the same time. I think it was done in Japan or something some years ago. It involved 2 prisms, where if it was a particle, it would reflect and be detected, and if it was a wave, it would pass through the primsm and be detected. If I understood it correctly, it was detected in both ways at the same time.
gmpep3 Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - those of u that r saying u don't understand, don't feel like u'r missing something- that's the whole point, physicists don't even understand it. You should do some more reading on quantum mechanics, particle duality, etc. There's even greater mysteries that have been discovered. Check out Shroedinger's Cat thought experiment, it's similar and has the same baffling results.
SeanPerrin Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - But there is only ONE electron. You have missed the point.
frnk653 Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Why are there so many confused responses for this video?? The point is: consciousness affects reality!! Yes, it's all about the camera. The observation of the experiment affected the results. Read "The Holographic Universe" for more info.

YouSpamTard Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - scoobystu74. I do not believe what you say is the case at all. To me, I don't see it as such a strange thing that an electron can act as a particle and/or a wave. The queer shit going on here is that the representation of conscious is inserted in the end of the video without due acclaim to such a thing. This not only voids with agenda the science of the experiment, but it also voids the representation of what may truly be an effect of something much larger, that being conscious. Its a BS video.
CrunchyMush Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - "consciousness affects reality" - No it doesn't. You have completely misunderstood the video and the implications of quantum superposition and decided to cling to the one piece of the video that supported what you obviously already thought was the case. Learn what wave/particle duality and superposition actually mean before you start drawing ridiculously pseudo-scientific conclusions.
CrunchyMush Says:
Dec 1, 2008 - It has nothing to do with God or anything else supernatural. It sounds counter-intuitive, but at a quantum level, all things exist in many states simultaneously. It's only when we measure a particle (by observing it), that it takes on a single state. The video uses some unscientific language to make the subject matter more palatable, but wave/particle duality, quantum uncertainty and superposition are all well understood and very "scientific". Wikipedia the above terms for more information.
