Sep 20, 2008 - It IS possible, but unlikely in my opinion. Both she and He Kexin seem just like Dominique Moceanu was in 1996. She was 14 in '96, the rules were changed some time after that. Comparing their size/shape ect, I am pretty convinced both Deng Linlin and He Kexin are around 14 years old.

Even Shawn Johnson admitted she's the same height as the Chinese gymnasts. Dominque Dawes (not Moceanu) stated that the Chinese gymnasts that SHE competed with were always smaller and until proven, it's all talk. You're right, comparing size and shape isnt right, but it seems that you are doing just that. This whole controversy only proves how superficial the world can be

Oct 1, 2008 - Great news. FIG has cleared all Chinese gymnasts in 2008 Olympics--they are all age eligible and will keep their medals. If you want to watch younger Deng Linlin--do a search for Dream Weaver 2008 and watch the 9 episodes. She's a lot cuter without makeup. She cried a lot in training though. She was just adorable when she was 14 years old, the first time she competed in a national competition in 2006.

Oct 5, 2008 - There was an interview with Deng L's parents and early childhood coach on CCTV. Her hometown wasn't known for gymnastics but was known for martial arts, wrestling and boxing. Her father was a basketball player and track athlete in high school. Her mom practiced martial art. Her grandma wanted her father to pull Deng L and her older brother out of gym bc it was too tough. Her mom said that if she didn't do a routine well, her coach would whip her butt.

Oct 12, 2008 - Nothing wrong with that at all. Regardless of whether she was a "crybaby" or not, she won a gold medal for China. She competed in 3 events and executed nearly perfectly. She immediately followed Cheng Fei on BB and CF's fall didn't rattle her.
