Nov 9, 2008 - The one and only "First Lady of Gospel" Pastor Shirley Caesar always brings it home!!!

sunsmile77 Says:

Nov 11, 2008 - I have always liked 'count on me' a blessed song. I am sooo far away from home and family... I have made some precious friends here in the UK and they are just like family.. God can be trusted to give you good friends...Thank you Jesus Christ for your faithfulness...Love loads xx

Nov 11, 2008 - To tell the truth, Ce CE was better than Whitney

xKeyshia18x Says:

Nov 12, 2008 - my mom LOVES this performance,i downloaded this and play it on my t.v through my ipod all the time. its her favorite i've lost count of how many times i've seen it, we know all the little runs and even ellens bit at the end! lol.

mikelovesgod Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - This is your opinion. You cannot say that Cece is better than Whitney no more than I can say that Whitney because it's an opinion. But let's face it- Whitney is better than anybody and everybody in the world knows it. When Whitney is at her best, nobody, and I mean nobody can even come close to touching her.

MiMiB80 Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - Come on, they are all good. PERIOD. the competition on this song is about Jesus so there is no need to compete.

MiMiB80 Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - I'm praying for Ellen, But she cracks me up on here! LOL

mauriziosalvatore Says:

Nov 16, 2008 - what s that woman ( Ellen? ) doing at the end of this performance ? IsnÂīt it a Gospel event after all ? Why the heavens they put a lesbian to be part of this ? Makes no sense at all. People praise G_d with their voices , but their hearts are far from Him . Nothing against Ellen , personally, but she shouldnt be here playing with things she has no respect for . I really felt bad about it .

awmartin1970 Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - Rather than mourning the fact that Ellen was on the show, shouldn't you be praising the Lord for the opportunity to share with her the Jesus that paid the price to save us all? The song says "I surrender all." You can surrender your sadness that Ellen was on the stage and thank God that Jesus died on the cross for her too. How coincidental that the pharisees and saducees said the same thing about Jesus hanging out with sinners

hiddentreasure30 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - it is so sad...that you as a so called christian could say such a thing...god is about love..and god loves everyone...it is not out job to judge..you have no idea what is going on in the heart of that woman...don't be so judmental...be thankful that she was able to witness something like..who knows what god may have in store for her...in the meantime it's not up to us to codemn. Praise God for Jesus!!! Know the true Jesus and you will learn to never say who is worthy to be in his presence

glassdragonfly Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - CeCe has the most lovely smile. It's like sunshine. I'm not really religious but I was brought up in a religion and the singing always sounded so somber and serious. I never understood why they couldn't show the joy they have in worshipping God. The singing is as important in praising God as anything else. That's why I love this type of Gospel music.

princevince03 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - you would never see a "gospel medley" on the Grammys of today.

Intercessor1227 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - this was the american music awards! not the grammys!! i love this performance!!!!

whfan007 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - it was the grammys.

JDiggaProductions Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - There was a gospel medley just earlier this year at the 50th Grammys. Aretha Franklin, Bebe Winans, The Clark Sisters, The New Breed, etc.

carolw1972 Says:

Nov 24, 2008 - mauriziosalvatore God's word is for everyone. How do you expect sinners to get saved?

stylecollective Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - They always do a gospel medley, it's just not always televised for the general public, sometimes it is performed only for NARAS members.

stylecollective Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - She was there because she was THE HOST of the show...and it's not as if she's a hateful person. She has a great record for being a productive and kind public citizen. Rather than cast aspersions on personal life, let us remember that only he who is without sin should cast the first stone. Everybody and their momma in the music industry know Whitney was cracked out and high as a kite during this medley: should we also say she should not have been part of this performance?

stylecollective Says:

Nov 29, 2008 - Very wise words... ..and jokingly speaking we can probably lock up this comment thread after that because your comment was so fair, cohesive and wise, there's not much to say after your post (thank you for the smile and lesson I got from reading it)!

awmartin1970 Says:

Nov 30, 2008 - Thanks. It often amazes me how judgmental us Christians can be, even after scripture says, "Judge not lest ye be judged. For by the same judgment you judge others, you will be judged." If God, being perfect, reached out to us who are not perfect, can we not do the same to our fellow imperfect humans? God has proven to be inclusive...not exclusive. Let's hope God's church practices this principle. God bless.
