Given that he lived through an era of social oppression and witnessed and experienced real bigotry, he's not nearly as bitter about it as he might have cause to be. I've also got a couple of family members who have serious bigotry issues... I can accept them as family, but I detest their prejudices. Surely you can find something more pertinent than to hold him accountable for something someone else said?
