May 8, 2008 - runway 7? there's only one

pjlouv Says:

May 8, 2008 - yep...that's it. An international airport with only 1 runway. But it's almost 10,000ft long. while we were there, I got some video of a 747 & an airbus a340 coming & going too....

May 9, 2008 - i actually live in costa rica, just wondering why it was called runway 7

pjlouv Says:

May 9, 2008 - Runways are named according to their approximate magnetic orientation. In the case of MROC, the runway lies on a magnetic heading of 070 & 250 degrees.

May 15, 2008 - Runway 7 es por la dirección en que está. Fíjese en una brujula y verá. De igual forma, si aterriza de este a oeste, la misma pista se llama Runway 24, precisamente por la posición.

Jun 18, 2008 - awesome i go spotting at MROC all the time. I love watching the A346 land and take off. Havent caught the 747's but I love standing behind runway 25 when they coming visual approach on pass right on top of my head. especially bizz jets. you guys should try t land this baby in MHTG tegucigalpa, honduras. what a heck of an approach.

Oct 8, 2008 - here's another interesting piece of trivia, San Diego is a very large international with only one runway 9/27 and London Gatwick also only has one rwy in operation

Oct 30, 2008 - We have nice tricky winds on summer here in costa rica!! I consider pilots in here and central america have great skills but are often discriminated by ignorant people. By the way great landing! Seems like u had to step hard on that left rudder ;)
