Apr 13, 2008 - That bar that kept swinging back and forth had two camera men on it when we went for our high school game, good thing no one was up there, and i would like to say that the player who made the shot to go into overtime should be given some type of medal.

APhizzle28 Says:
Jul 29, 2008 - the tornado was about 150 yards from the Dome, if it would have taken a direct hit then it would have been much worse. The dome is only built to withstand wind to 80mph and the tornado was about 150mph
bull912000 Says:
Aug 5, 2008 - No, those stadiums are built to hold up against 200mph winds from what I understand.
metalheadcyclone12 Says:
Aug 16, 2008 - Well tornadoes have had winds at 300 mph thank god this one wasnt one of em

Aug 16, 2008 - With the 2:11 seconds to go in overtime of the game between Alabama and Miss. St. the game was immediately stopped after the fans and players heard a loud noise and saw the sides of the building being torn and debris falling onto the floor. Thankfully, #1 Mykal Riley had hit a huge three point basket to send the game into overtime keeping the fans safe inside the dome, and out of the tornado storms outside. That shot saved lives.
metalheadcyclone12 Says:
Aug 17, 2008 - Amen to that

Sep 2, 2008 - I live around the corner from the dome in a loft. I remember when the tornado hit, I heard a whoosh and then some wind and rain. I had NO IDEA that a tornado had glanced by my building. There was no damage at all in my building or on the street. Around the corner where the dome is, destruction. Riley's 3 pointer saved a lot of lives that night!
Arem177 Says:
Sep 9, 2008 - God, I wonder why I didn't hear about that.

Apr 4, 2008 - Those sportscasters deserve an award for keeping their cool under extreme conditions. I would imagine they are trained to expect fights, riots, and man-made disasters, but a tornado?
