http://mtg.upf.edu/reactable The reactable, is a multi-user electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible user interface. Several simultaneous performers share complete control over the instrument by moving physical objects on a luminous table surface. By moving and relating these objects, representing components of a classic modular synthesizer, users can create complex and dynamic sonic topologies, with generators, filters and modulators, in a kind of tangible modular synthesizer or graspable flow-controlled programming language. This instrument is being developed by a team of digital luthiers (Sergi Jordà , Martin Kaltenbrunner, Günter Geiger and Marcos Alonso), at the Music Technology Group within the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.

Jul 25, 2008 - That was invented in Barcellona by Serra. That kind of stuff it's not invented by any band in the world
nueve08 Says:
Jul 25, 2008 - Well, it could be by any of the ones I mentioned... did you know that Radiohead has invented their own weird ways to come up wth new sounds by tearing up a keyboard and log it with a mac and other instruments or maybe Bjork that has used instruments that we didn't even know that they existed? like her voice only in diffrerent tunes (chdeck out her album "Medula"(2004)... the weirdest album ever (just next to "Kid A"(2000) by Radiohead:P

Nov 11, 2008 - I mean, it looks cool, and it's no doubt very powerful, but what can it do that a modular synth can't? It's no doubt just as expensive.

Jun 23, 2008 - personally i don't like this thing.. it gives me a weird futuristic taste to electric music and it's like a much more complicated version of fruity loops! who the hell is going to produce music off this thing? it sounds like a broken record! unless that's what they wanted to build in the first place.. oh wait..... why didn't they just break a record and play that instead!! YEAA GREAT IDEAAA!! that would have saved them some more money.
