Aug 14, 2008 - Russia always have the biggest and greatest toys . . .

chupokabro Says:

Aug 16, 2008 - The primary purpose of this bird is to refuel fast the Soviet tank armies that rush through and flood the Western Europe so they may not have to wait until the pipe-laying batallions supply them with diesel fuel and can continue to advance at maximum speed. So this heli was one of the main components of red threat.

TurangaBLEU Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - ... aside from never going into production or service.

prototype747 Says:

drewb993 Says:

Aug 23, 2008 - the an225's been flying in cargo service since 2001 though, if it didn't work you'd think they'd have noticed by now

zvast Says:

Aug 23, 2008 - 2001 yes, after 10 years in hangar. It was built to carry Buran only! Also note, that it had 6 engines, mainly because Russians are behind in that area. But it's a nice aircraft, so after 10 years it was upgraded and is flying. Look up this website: Dark Roasted Blend: Rare Photos of the Russian "Buran" Space Program

TllAlex Says:

Sep 1, 2008 - Guys, don't you undestand Russian? Wach "Тайны Русского Оружия (Ми-12 ОКБ Миля)" and don't say rubbish. This heli was made mainly for moving nuke rocket launch vehicles around remoute regions of the country (you know there are planty of them in Russia), so it would be hard to predict were they are and hard to destroy, but another, much chipper way was found to do so. That's why it wasn't in mass production. Besides, is it a joke? about 70's oil crisis? in Russia? no way.

deadpeng Says:

Sep 2, 2008 - this is weird

rockerrolleracdc Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Yeah it is, I hear their getting a second one ready for flight because the demand for the an225 has been so high.

F22RaptorSquadron Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - I didn't know about this thing until recently: when I saw the video I literally shouted HOLY FUCK during my private pilot operations class.. (not my fault for watching YouTube vids in class lol, I already knew the material. I mean come on, who doesn't know what RADAR stands for?)
