Berber is the English word for Amazigh peoples; Amazigh is the name of the people in their language called tamazight. Today, some North Africans are Arabized Berbers, pure Arabs or mixed Berber+Arab. Whether a Moroccan thinks of himself as an Arab is his choice, as there are pure Berber/Amazigh Moroccans who have no ounce of Arab blood. Hope that explains it!
