Gnu Odour playing Ceremony live at the Ukrainian National Home in New York on November 19th 1981. This is why events unnerve me They find it all a different story Notice whom for wheels are turning Turn around and turn towards this time All she ask's the strength to hold me Then again the same old story World will travel oh so quickly Travel first and lean towards this time Oh I'll bring them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows it's got to be this time Watching her the times she cried The times she cried Too frail to wake/walk this time Oh I'll bring them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows it's got to be this time Avenues all lined with trees Picture me and then we'll start watching Watching forever Forever, watching love grow Forever, letting me know Forever.

Oct 17, 2008 - is in it "watching her, the things she said"?

VanishInFright Says:

Oct 17, 2008 - Not in this particular performance. :) I try to have the lyrics match what is being sung, and Barney likes to improvise a lot so I'm having a hell of time...

Oct 22, 2008 - this song was written by the heart and the soul

Raiderfn31 Says:

Oct 24, 2008 - god this reminds me of when I was 15 and was smokin herb with some guys from college(who became friends later)that was 20 years ago....damn

altroval Says:

Oct 26, 2008 - I'm glad somebody gave Steve Morris a nod here. He is a very good drummer. Peter Hook has always had a remarkable and unique style, but he's the first to admit that he is a very average musician. Bernard was a great arranger of music (and, actually, an outstanding record producer). As much as I like the chords he penned for Joy Division, he tended to be all over the place in their live performances. I won't rubbish his singing here. He was still pretty new to the role.

Nov 8, 2008 - im assuming this is on the tour immediatly after ians death e.g the re-arranged tour its impressive if you consider theyre even there at all

fac188 Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - if peter hook was an average musician he wouldnt be famous 25 yrs ago

milesito Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - they look so content and miserable. is that how they always looked?

1235dug Says:

Nov 11, 2008 - check out (DOUG MAC DONALD BAND)

drfredjones Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - has anyone else uploaded this again?

aidantheperson Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - nah thats bang out of order. Ian had died less than a year ago and it was the first time they had been on stage since Ian died. You cant comment on him like that when you consider what he was going through

aidantheperson Says:

Nov 16, 2008 - oh ok i still think its out what he said though, they were obviously still really upset about his death.

chrisandkim Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - i think what the dude was trying to say is that this was their first appearance in the USA and playing mostly the venues that they were supposed to play as joy division. You know the tour that got canceled due to ian killing himself. so i guess it was a little emotional

rtdaly Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - The Drummer reminds me so much of Ian Curtis, kinda nice...

mobiusmultimedia Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - The drummer? God damn... That is because New Order is Joy Division and vice versa. New Order just happens to be better, and it's funny that people glamorize a band because a guy hangs himself. Bullshit. New Order prevailed after losing a friend and hit the top of the charts. Commend that!

roothands Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - You're kidding, right? Even if Ian never died Joy Division would still be one of the most influential bands in modern rock music.

roothands Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - I love synth if it's used well. It's just like any other instrument, it depends on the musician's talent. Personally, I like synth best in combination with other instruments (ex. many of the tracks on Gary Numan and Tubeway Army's Replicas and The Pleasure Principle).

daviddelarge Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - The riff in this song is in my humble opinion on of the most beautiful things ever written. Yes, it's simple, but that's what Bernard as a guitarist is so good at - simple figures that while not being 'technical' (ie. over-worked and wanky) perfectly encapsulate the mood of the song and Ian's lyrics. See also solo in Digital for brilliant example of this, and Disorder too I reckon.

mobiusmultimedia Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - Agreed, but New Order is a way better band, and they would have never been around if Ian didn't hang himself. I don't know what the band would have been if he stayed alive, but I am grateful that New Order is a band. End of story.

mobiusmultimedia Says:

Nov 25, 2008 - Good point. Simple, but emotional... not too "wanky." Nicely put David.

NYYMGMG Says:

Nov 28, 2008 - I wonder why Bernard's hair color changed when he fronted New Order. He seemed to have dark hair in Joy Division but progressively turned blonder.

Makarious Says:

Nov 29, 2008 - This is a Joy Division song.

raccoonstarsmember Says:

Nov 30, 2008 - wooooo!
