This argument is about whether CHRISTIANITY, the institution, the religion, the man made structure of churches and creeds and activist groups, is peaceful and wonderful. And it CAN be, but it doesn't HAVE to be. Sometimes it sucks, and Falwell was an example.

You are right about one thing, people need to focus on something other than the hellfire and brimstone. Nov 14, 2008 - It's also the sin problem, because sin is death, as the scholar says. Christianity can become fixated on sin, corruption, and death. Viewed from the outside it can be a very grim religion. Not always, but often enough that you would notice. The part that I find sad is that you seem to have such an awful, and innacurate, view of humanity as lazy, evil, and just bad. That just isn't true. People are good, too.
