The "Vincero" on the version he does on "My Secret Passion" gives me shivers, but to hear Pavarotti do it bring tears to my eyes. So powerful, such emotion. The Italian rapper was comic relief. I understand that Michael Bolton does not have the depth of the classic operatic tenor voice, yet he was not at all shameful in Luciano's presence. Only wish he'd performed this when I saw him Sunday night.

At just about any moment his singing sounds tense, squeezed and limited, especially when you have Pavarotti to compare on the same stage. One cannot sing opera just because he thinks he can. There is some talent needed and lots of work.

It is difficult to listen to his solo clip of Nessun Dorma here on YouTube - I feel like clearing my throat (as if to help him to clear the voice). His voice sounds so un-operatic and un-professional after you have heard some recordings of actual opera singers.
