Paul reached those high Cs everytime, and he sounded better than most I've heard professional, who have most likely done years in academies. Pauls classical CD has sold over 5 million copies, and this is when he was amatuer, still selling phones. Opera sales have rocketed after Paul came on scene, but of course just coincidence.

An opera critic from Vienna Opera House said, Paul Potts the best raw talent he had heard, but because he has not been through La Scala Colleges type training and opera elite are trained to hear technically, the opera elite find it hard to accept. Paul is now almost technically perfect. Little training gone along way.

Nov 27, 2008 - A top classical magazine a year ago, I think it was Classical FM but thats out of top of my head said of Paul Potts on front page. PAUL POTTS BEST HOPE FOR OPERA. Then inside it read, Paul Potts on the scene has many people interested in opera that was never before. Do the opera folks want to keep it a clique. Never mind we ignorant masses can listen to Pauls amazing classical CD instead of some of the awful noises I have heard come out of opera.

Nov 28, 2008 - Yes well mountainsofmontana. Paul is not *opera* singer, but he might be best hope for Opera itself, like Brightman and Bocelli are as well, they bring ´Opera´ to masses. But that does not make them Opera singers yet. Bocelli gets very close tho, some times hes even able to perform on same level with the best opera singers. I like bocelli.

I hope there people who are coming on here saying he is not an opera singer have like so many commented, been to see him LIVE. Bocelli has been singing on a professional level, many, many years, one has started on the road, another has journeyed far, so are you many opera community who seem at this moment in time hovering over this site going to let him get a few years of training in?, I think not.

I now have his cds and listen to him frequently. And I never liked opera before. He is truly magnificent in my book. Not only for his voice, but for his passion. WOW!!!
