Jun 25, 2008 - Something like your face? You probably look like a horses arse

tahoeshgrl Says:

Jun 25, 2008 - Ooo-hoooo! Sensitive?? Also an unhealthy obsession with this girl, who totally rips off Astrud Gilberto's song and her original style.

dmitririzzo Says:

Jul 2, 2008 - That's just the poor quality of the video.

ohwhateverdammit Says:

Jul 5, 2008 - I agree, Tahoesgirl is just a sour ugly old witch

ohwhateverdammit Says:

Jul 5, 2008 - Actually, this is a rare instance where

ohwhateverdammit Says:

Jul 5, 2008 - FH sang someone else's music. Look elsewhere on YTube instead of being ignorant all the time

tahoeshgrl Says:

Jul 5, 2008 - I still think you're obsessed. LOL!

tahoeshgrl Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Could be. Thanks for a coherent and adult reply, rather than resorting to name-calling.

Marzziooo Says:

Jul 10, 2008 - She could perfectly be a "Garota de Ipanema" as such cute she was! Adorable accent, by the way.

Becky930 Says:

Jul 11, 2008 - There's a problem with the video, but the voice itself is fine. Thanks a lot.

Sixtiesalltheway Says:

Jul 11, 2008 - I've just played it and I didn't notice anything wrong, except for that quality isn't the best.

Becky930 Says:

Jul 11, 2008 - Thanks for checking. It's just a matter of quality: american (black and white ?) TV broadcasts in the sixties yield a crude picture, with (too) much contrast in it, that doesn't really fit with FH's smooth face, nor with the song's softness. But I truly enjoyed to hear it.

Sixtiesalltheway Says:

Jul 11, 2008 - This episode was originally broadcasted in color, but today only a black and white inferior version excists. And my copy has probably been copied 3-4 times before I got it.

mbhwee Says:

Jul 11, 2008 - It's called a 'cover'. And last time i heard, bossa nova was not limited to just Astrud Gilberto.

tahoeshgrl Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - Really?? I'm glad you told you me that because I didn't know that someone singing someone else's song, in the exact same vocal style, same tempo, etc was called "a cover". I call it redundant. FYI for those with their panties in a whirl over my comments. It's called "an opinion" and last time I heard, I have a right to have one, just as you have a right to obsess over Francoise. Let's agree to disagree and leave it alone.

Becky930 Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - To put the things right: this song does not belong to FH's repertoire and as it seems, there was no orchestra behind her, so she had to follow a magnetic tape, letting no place for improvisation (and I don't think the producer even wished that, since the only purpose with this shot was to get the US public acquainted with her personality - just a promotion - since the american movie "Grand Prix" was released shorty afterwards and she played a character in it)!

tahoeshgrl Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - Interesting... noted.

Garrrske Says:

Aug 19, 2008 - WHAAAAAAAAAT! Yes!

Azorka82 Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - Yep. "tahoesgrl" sounds just like Lake Tahoe kind of people.

seaquat Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - A M A Z I N G !!!

dynamoehummm Says:

Sep 26, 2008 - I remember a broadcast on NPR regarding this genre's heyday in film and music. Hollywood didn't incorporate music from Brazil, but rather created a 'sound' that US audiences would come to associate with the region. So Hollywood in essence created the sound; falsely attributing it to local musical stylings. Call off yer dogs. This is my recollection of an interview with a musician from the area and familiar with both histories, on NPR. If accurate, is this the origin of Bossa Nova?

5stringofFernandoSor Says:

Nov 9, 2008 - Fuck me, she needs some braces.

RideMyBMW Says:

Nov 13, 2008 - "Fuck me, she needs some braces" - 5string xD!!! She got da pipe-smokin-crack-hoe grill...xD!!!! Singing lessons anyone ? xD!!!

willwjl Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - tahoeshgrl: Some people believe you can't have an alternate opinion on YouTube. I said The Hollies had Harmonies similar to The Everley Brothers' and their music was like a lot of sixties groups at their time. I had some dude call me a stupid person, in bad english to boot! HA. My Opinion. She has better teeth in reality. This is just a bad video tape! So there HATERS!

oldphoque Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I`m not well versed in Jazz. I like diverse music and reach back often. I can tell you this version was Karaoke compared to the og Bossa Nova. Sure, she sounds nice but this was not her song nor genre to be messin with. Just my thoughts on this number. I don`t hate it but sure don`t like it.
