Most people have some knowledge of the holocaust. The 6 years of torture and atrocities that the Jews suffered under Hitler and the Nazis during the Second World War. While in no way downplaying the terrible events of the holocaust, such a massacre does not compare to the severity to the torture and murder that took place under Papal authority during the 605 years of the Inquisition. Nov 22, 2008 - The pope John Paul II apologized for the sins committed by the children of the Church in 1999. He also apologized to the world for the victims of the Inquisition, the numbers are very exaggerated on this site though. Catholics don't claim to be perfect. We know that we are not better than anyone else. Facts are facts however, and this video is greatly flawed. The truth is out there.

Also the pope ordered that it could not cause loss of limb or endanger life.Even then it was ordered by the pope that it could not cause loss of limb or endanger life. The inquisition was an intervention between the accused and the civic courts.
