Dec 1, 2008 - i heard this song when i was young and i love it. It stands for everything i understand. I feel so torn up often it was the only thing i could listen to last year when my grandma died. Dec 1, 2008 - I don't think Johnny could have picked a better song to sum up the life he lived, and the things he experienced. It is both a man reflecting on escaping the pains of the world through the use of drugs, and sense of the numbed reality that comes with it. Trent wrote it, but Johnny Cash took the idea, and made it simple for every person to understand.
