Aug 13, 2008 - Segovia is sharp by a little bit...but love him and Bream. Yepes never seems like he puts the music first.

Aug 18, 2008 - In the spirit of the Beijing Olympics, if these 3 renditions were to be ranked, it would be: Gold medal - Segovia, Andres (Spain) Silver medal - Not awarded Bronze medal - Not awarded

Sep 23, 2008 - its so subjective, i agree with you.... heard both live, both as great as thier legendary status live.... i remember hearing segovia at a packed festival hall london in 1986 a few months before he died, he attemted a trill in the bouree from the ist lute suite about 4 times befor he got it.... when he finally got it, it was the most amazing sound i have ever heard on guitar, every time i heard on the guitar, i will always remember that sound....and i was sat on the stage behind him!
jorgebenbrasil Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - segovias is the best
decemberflowerr Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - generally, althought segovia is the god. bream is the improved version of segovia. BUT, i prefer bream on baroque, classical, rather than romantic - and of spanish school. THUS; segovia all the way, for this marvellously tramendous piece by the best composer to have ever lived ; Francisco Tarrega. Loved bream's version too though. cheers.upload an " asturias " or " gavotte en rondeau bwv 996 " by Bach, segovia and bream played them, and john williams as well.

Oct 16, 2008 - Segovia beats them hands down.Yepes has a boring sound and Bream sounds like he's playing his guitar with a brick(too rough).
poupee58 Says:
Oct 23, 2008 - Bream is very interesting ,uses lots of tone colours but I find his interpretation Eccentric,Segovia is perfect ,and Yepes always interesting.
DarkEmbrace1066 Says:
Oct 26, 2008 - Everyone has their own way of interpreting the piece... There is no right or wrong, it just depends on a persons individual personality and STYLE. It's my own opinion and I believe that Maestro Segovias style is the closest to the purest form of the guitar. He brought it into the "Mainstream" and made it popular I guess you could say... When I listen to Segovia it always seems that he takes his time and caresses the guitar... It's his one love a wooden box with strings, and he can make it speak
guitarclasic4693 Says:
Oct 30, 2008 - muy hermoso tema combinado de los mas grandes interpretes de la guitarra
souellette22 Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - I have to agree with you about Bream...forever I've tried to like his style, and I just can't. No disrespect, I just think Segovia is #1 when it comes to expression, Christopher Parkening for tone, and Williams for technique.
usrnamedenied Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - I like Bream's interpretation, it has something "special"
JimmyPage68 Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Segovia is the soul. Yepes is a metronomo. and Bream is something in between
julianwardguitar Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Bream has the tone, listen to his Malorca, it is simply the very best complete performance- Bram at his very best- an absolute master. I cannot understand why somebody could say Bream plays with a brick. I genuinely have never heard that before. I saw him live around 10 years ago, he plyed with the same expression,
julianwardguitar Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - but obviously he played slower- with a lot of pauses, much like segovia did in his later years. Bream also made loads of mistakes- but that was to be expected. All of these guys were amazing- we all have our preferences, much like how I don't chose to listen to Williams recordings, because to me they are technically brilliant but musically boring.

Nov 25, 2008 - Amazing how everyone has his own way of playing this composition. Everyone has his own feeling while playing it.
