YouTube, please stop using your shoddy methods of censorship - like, for example, displaying totally irrelevant videos in the "Related Videos" section below! This video has nothing to do with sex, as your "Related Videos" would suggest! Photographers Rights And The Law In The UK - A brief guide for street photographers. Know your rights when you're out with your camera. Despite the law being clear on a citizen's rights to freely take pictures in public places (with a few restrictions) there is growing evidence of the police, police community support officers (PCSOs), security guards and general jobsworths failing to respect the rights of photographers going about their lawful business. Street shots If you're on a public right of way - such as a public pavement, footpath or public highway - you're free to take photographs for personal and commercial use so long as you're not causing an obstruction to other users or falling foul of anti-Terrorism laws or even the Official Secrets Act (frankly, this one is unlikely). Property owners have no right to stop people taking photos of their buildings, so long as the photographer is standing in a public place (e.g. the road outside). However, if you're standing on private property and the landowner/occupier objects, then they have every right to request that you stop immediately and ask you to leave if you refuse. Shopping Centres Most shopping centres and malls stand on private land with many gaining a notorious reputation for speedily dispatching stroppy security guards demanding that you stop taking photos. The irony that they're already busy filming you from every angle via a flotilla of CCTV cameras is generally lost on them. Deleting images Security guards do not have stop and search powers or the right to seize your equipment or delete images or confiscate film under any circumstances. Nov 16, 2008 - Lmao that guy owned those 2 Police :P 'Can I have your 2 names?'
OneManAndHisFiction Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - Those "security guards" in the last few scenes are clearly "Disturbing the Peace". If any security guard would do that to me, I would phone 999 and ask specifically for a "Peace Officer" (not a corporate 'Police' or 'Policy Enforcement' Officer), and I would state that the man is disturbing my peace. I would identify myself as a real man rather than the legal-fiction called the 'person'. This is the power of the Common Law, and the Peace Officers will (should) help.
OneManAndHisFiction Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - That's right. The "House of Hanover" (renamed to the "House of Windsor" on 17 July 1917) only holds the seat (the throne) to The Crown Corporation. They are not the stakeholders, although they rightfully have a lot of stakeholdings in many other corporations.
WHATnoPies Says:

Rave2YourGrave Says:
Nov 23, 2008 - I'm from northern Ireland, I have been stopped filming a number of times by the police, over here they use the preventation of terrorism act to stop you, they can say you are gathering information on police officers. I don't know if this is true but they can get away with murder under the prevention of terrorism act. Northern Ireland has a bad history and police are still being targeted by dissident republican organisations such as the RIRA, CIRA, INLA.

MISSISSAUGAWATCH Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - As someone researching/documenting municipal security surveillance (not police, but city government security cams), people should know the shocking degree to which municipal security have no accountability mechanisms in place. Video surveillance is an irreplaceable tool for law enforcement. The Problem is it is perverted by no oversight --in one city, Freedom of Information shows "no responsive records" relating to efficacy and oversight. Who Watches the Watchers? The greatest fear? No One.

Dec 1, 2008 - wow, seems like the cameras are everywhere! i don't know if this is true but i read that there is something like 1 camera for every 14 people in the UK. i'm here in America and it seems like this is what they are trying to do to us also. national security my ass. more like population control

Dec 4, 2008 - Great documentary! A sheriff's deputy once tried to stop me from taking photos of agents busting a meth house. I was at a police barrier 200 feet away from the scene and the deputy was worried that the faces of the agents would appear on my film. I kept shooting anyway - besides the goons were totally covered up, including their faces. What a bunch of crock. So the photo I ran in my newspaper was of the deputy holding his hand up to my camera. It made for a great shot!
