Nov 26, 2008 - Everything else aside- the bend to the high E at 3:14 has to be the purest note ever played. Good, God- the tone, the attack. Yes, its a cop on the orginal Hendrix but it is one of those rare musical moments that reaffirms my faith in the world. For the sake of it- does anybody else have one of those "one note moments" to share? Vids, parts out of favorite novels, etc.? Would love to hear from you.

Nov 27, 2008 - The best thing starts from the first solo, from 2:41. Everything till than was amazing and really nice, but that first solo and afterwards is mindblowing! Also that note at 2:59 has to be the purest, rawest and most passionate note ever played on a electric guitar! BTW. You can't really say that this is a copy. This is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, and SRV did this song in his own way and he performed it with his own thing and style, so there is no copying at all.

grga888 Says:

Nov 27, 2008 - And what you get at the end is that this cover is one of the best covers and tributes (by my opinion it is the best cover and tribute of all time) to Jimi Hendrix. Also this solo is one of the best solos performed on a electric guitar ever.

grga888 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Yeah a good one. He even would do that song live as a tribute to Hendrix and SRV! But still SRV's cover of this song is the ultimate best!

dazamania Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - not takingf away from jimi (bcuz he was great) but stevie's version of this song is the greatest......

alexharvBELIEVE Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - lets just take each for what they were. hendrix came along and did his thing, heavy and unpredictable yet full of that groove. srv came along, revived it all with fresh air and a booming, godly voice. sounds like glass breaking everytime. Fender thank your legends cause this advertisement is one that comes from the soul, the spirit soaring out of the bottom of it all.

jOsHkInG101 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - How is Slash so great? I don't think he is bad but he is nowhere near the greatest guitar player of any genre. I also don't think out off all guitarists you could pick from diffeent genres to get the one greatest guitarist ever. If I did I would go with a million other people and say Hendrix, but I don't think there is one single guitarist that is the greatest player over anybody.

gnivri93 Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Man, all you people that say this version of this song is better are crazy there is no way that there could ever be one better than Hendrix's

serenasorridente Says:

Dec 4, 2008 - the best song and the best version one i think... SRV you are the best

CptChaos88 Says:

Dec 4, 2008 - I have nothing more to say... 100% my opinion
