Jan 7, 2009 - Interesting to note the differences between this version and the new one. Actually if you allow for certain conventions of the early part of the trance period that have fallen out of favour, this original version demonstrates a high degree of technical artistry and could actually weather the test of time pretty well on its own. When you compare it to other songs of the period, its hard to find too many others that would still sound as good today, although KLF and Utah Saints come to mind...

Jan 7, 2009 - Let me respectfully disagree with those that say that the 2008 version is better than the original. The 1990 version is melodic with distinctive nostalgic sound that can carry you away. People still remember it for its uniqueness. The 2008 version (which is not bad) is stripped of all the qualities and feelings of the older version. It sounds like an ordinary 2008 hit and that's why people will very soon forget it (if they haven't already). Everybody "thank" MTV for renouncing 90s dance&trance

Jan 7, 2009 - I can find you countless 90s dance, house & trance songs that sound good today. This music was never popular in the USA & Canada due to no promotion. But in Europe it was really strong until it magically disappeared from the mainstream media and became more or less underground and finally forgotten. "Thank" you MTV(Europe) for that!

Jan 7, 2009 - Yes I agree that there are many very excellent 90s dance songs, what I was specifically referring to however, was how good this song was for the year it came out, and how it stands out from other songs from 1990, even within the genre. You could blast this one from your car today, some of those old tracks tho, can you really say you would do that on a crowded street? This one you can. It has stood the test of time well I think. I also agree the MTV usually poisons anything it touches, though.

Jan 7, 2009 - These genres of house-trance started in 1990. Guru Josh and KLF were among the first ones so there is really not many songs to compare "Infinity" with from that year. But I totally agree that it stands out, just check my previous comments. I don't know what raises eyebrowses in U.S.A. but if your music does that then play it louder and prouder. >:-))
