runefan213 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Robots not Robats. maybe keeping your child on the computer IS a better idea But somehow wrong. I mean they can be fat. like me

momsjon Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - Powerful. NCLB shuts off thousands of students & teachers from the 21st Century; nothing has improved the quality of learning to engage/immerse students in their learning. We must use the excellent research on cognition/brain compatible instruction, with whatever technology IS available to teach critical thinking & problem solving. The 1900's factory-style approach, stulifying curriculum, & incessant testing is failing America's greatest resource, its youth.

TheLadyLindz Says:

Nov 22, 2008 - Embracing Technology has value, but there can also be value in instruction even without technology. If you can't learn without technology, your dependency will be your downfall.

Nov 30, 2008 - ...However! The computer is the greatest communication tool ever created. We can have conversations with people in the entire world! Thats pretty amazing aint it? If it wasnt for the computer we wouldt know that your brother plays World of Warcraft. Just an example :)

Dec 2, 2008 - I think it's ironic how they're saying this on a piece of dry-erase board.

teacherfrankabq Says:

Dec 4, 2008 - Would please post this to teachertube as well? Our school district has YouTube blocked for some idiotic reason.

jrvonohlen Says:

natasha18ukraine Says:

Dec 10, 2008 - Wow nice... i wish my teachers could see this. And understand it also

freakingpeacee Says:

Dec 16, 2008 - I don't think technology is always such a great thing. For example, calculators. I was encouraged to use them because I was an honors students and at my school, they were for the honor kids, but I can't do math in my head anymore. I'm the business & tech academy at my school. I've had two classes where the teachers don't teach me at all. One, I have to teach myself through sources on the net. And two, with a book.

freakingpeacee Says:

Dec 16, 2008 - typos in my last comment, sorry.

ImOnTheTube Says:

Dec 19, 2008 - I think that people must first understand and utilize the technology and capabilities that are possible their heads rather than in microchips. One will then know what he or she is capable of doing and does not become dependent on technology. Technology is wonderful but there needs to be a balance to everything.

ChomuSclavus Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - At 2:41, I find much of that illegible. Can anyone else read it? (Seems fuzzy for the most part.)

ChomuSclavus Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - If only I was born on y2k. I'm a man of the 21st Century.

TrueDavebucket Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - Children in china have no creativity. That was true 10 years ago when I taught there for almost a year. The worst question I could ask my kids was " What do you think?" FREEDOM! CREATIVITY!

supermariobaby5 Says:

Dec 22, 2008 - this is kinda Creepy

chrisisAAAAAAAA Says:

Dec 24, 2008 - im on gr9 and NONE of my teachers have EVER let me create something with technology except in grade 7 when i made a shitty power point presentation. All we do all day is copy notes, nothing else, and our teacher expects us to NOT fall asleep. I'm pretty sick of the notes, and only like 5 % of the kids actually copy them down (im serious). Then our class average was 50 %. Our school is a failure xD

tyIerz06 Says:

Dec 28, 2008 - And teachers think they're teaching us useful stuff, NOT.

nurplefam Says:

Dec 28, 2008 - Hey all don't fret. I am teacher, and I promise you that there are some good teacher out here. In college the majority of the focus was on fostering creative thinking. So, hang in there, there will be a shift. Out with old and in with the new.

crissybhoygillen Says:

clip1190 Says:

Jan 2, 2009 - "there will be a shift. Out with old and in with the new" hahaha typical teacher swimming in his own mediocrity. That's right my friend keep marching to the systems beat. Here's the best thing you can do as a teacher. Ggo buy the series called Wired and watch. Now you have an idea. Understand as soon as you unplug you can't go back.
