This game still gives me chills watching it. MJ had that look that was beyond serious. After losing Game 3 in 3OTS, Kevin Johnson bragged about holding MJ to 44pts. Thus, MJ came out in Game 4 with a look of stoic madness. Becoming just the 5th player to score 50+ in the finals, he tied Rick Barry for 2nd highest all time in the Finals with 55 pts. But, the manner in which MJ played was just jaw-dropping - capped with a vicious last shot, MJ-style. Suns' coach Westphal said, "I don't think MJ could guard MJ. I'm as much in awe as everyone else. He's the best offensive and defensive PG ever, the best offensive and defensive SG ever, the best offensive and defensive SF, and he's probably top five at PF and C."

Jun 28, 2008 - Teams tried bigger, stronger players on Jordan. They tried quick guys, although finding guys anywhere near as quick as Jordan was difficult, and even those who could match Jordan's quickness,STILL couldn't contain him for more than one game. The point is, Michael Jordan always found a way to rise to any challenge! A.I. scored 40 in one game against Jordan,aND BRAGGED about it, but Jordan shut him down the next time they met!
jordanlover23 Says:
Jun 29, 2008 - That's not true. Jordan actually never guarded Iverson when they played each other save for the rare switch on defense.

Jun 30, 2008 - After scoring 40 in one game against Jordan, A.I. said,"I clowned him (Jordan)!" A.I. said it because his quote was in the USA Today.

Jul 1, 2008 - I can promise you that Jordan never guarded AI save for an isolated switch on defense here and there. And I highly doubt that Iverson said that about Jordan -- even he's not that disrespectful. He always respected Jordan. Find me a link to this quote from USA today.
prophetbyronmotley Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - I wish I remembered where that link was! Some people will fabricate stories, but I'm not such a person! I got that A.I. quote from the media! As much as I respect Jordan! I hope that quote WAS a misquote, and I mean that!

Jul 2, 2008 - Modern players keep trying to be like Jordan, but it's looking like Jehovah God only made one Michael Jordan! the 500 words youtube gives you isn't enough space to describe all of the ways Jordan had of getting the ball in the basket! All of the varying scoop shots in midair, the number of explosive moves to the basket, the varying jump shots and the incredible hang time that made so much of that possible! As for all of the other things Jordan did to win games, oops, I'm out of space!

Jul 7, 2008 - The last shot is so great. I have this game in my tape, too. Many times in this game, MJ against 5 players' defense, and still hitted the shot and got foul.
jimmychuang Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - yes, no on ecould stop MJ to attack the basket. He just kept attack basket when he was double team. Thats how he lose double team in that game. MJ is a much more intelligent player. MJ was extremely skilled, but his intelligence made him win the championship. In that time, Bulls was the best! Even they only had 57 win in 1993, but they were far more than the record. When MJ desired to score, other players wouldn't just see he play, they still did their job well.

Aug 16, 2008 - hey hoops. you accidentally typed "game 5" in the opening frame. this was one of the first games that i memorized. i started taping bulls games around 1992 but this one was one of my favorites from start to finish. it always seemed like every time the announcers were talking about jordan or doing a piece on him, he just happened to score or do an incredible move in the game! amazing!
wiredshock Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - Jordan sent a message to every opposing player who won the mvp against him that year. first barkley in the 93 finals and then malone in the 97 finals.

Sep 20, 2008 - The most incredible athlete I ever seen!! This guy deserves a degree in Physics! If someone read you his encyclopedia of accomplishments without you actually seeing them, you'd be like, "that's impossible! He's truely unbelievable! Anyone who likes SPORTS owes it to themself to see Jordan play!

Sep 29, 2008 - one huge difference is atleticism. kobe is nowhere near jordans athletic level.
dv122 Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - 94 and 95 would have been the end years of his prime. he was over prime in 96.we lost 2 years of jordan prime and dominance. we would have had more 40,50 maybe 60 point games, dunks, playoff performances, mvps, scoring titles, and 2 more championships

Oct 27, 2008 - Man, I remember watching this when I was twelve, knowing I was witnessing something spectacular. Even though MJ broke my heart as a Suns fan, I realized what a great champion he was. What a terrific series.
sopa71479 Says:
Nov 3, 2008 - Everyone look at the 2:13 mark. This is the big differance in transition between his game and anyone else's. MJ going with a head of steam and look at how phoenix was lining up. The were lining up very similar to the modern day "zone". Look how open the lane is and look how he just broke it down. and thunder dan was all nba defense 2nd team that year

Nov 17, 2008 - I was very lucky to have seen this..I was a kid back then..and even as a kid I knew that another like him was impossible for me to see for the rest of my life..he is the best in basketball history with no doubt!the only player who could win you championships all by his own!
TBlake34 Says:
Jun 27, 2008 - The way to shut down Kobe, or at least make him a good, but not dominant player, is to put a bigger, stronger player on him, and help with a double team. Paul Pierce and Tayshuan Prince basically contained him in the last two finals Kobe played in. Notice that the Suns tried this with Dumas and lots of help. Notice what happened. NO ONE slowed down MJ, the best you could do was to make him waste a few more calories scoring on your ass, but it was happening.
