Part of the reason that we had problems with Russia back in the olden days is because their economy was catching up to ours. So, of course, we had to start shit with them. During the Great Depression people fled from the US to Russia. Any type of government or economic type has potential, to argue that is absurd. The US is rich, but we exploit people and practice in hegemony. Capitalism = greed.

I also hate to say that different government type have different potential. I mean hell they are different am I wrong? In a socialist you punish hard work but reward failure. Nov 18, 2008 - The problem wit the "better than" attitude that dominates big business now is that it is about profit. It is about making a product that is just good enough to beat out the other guy's AND cutting corners on the production quality and screwing your employees, unless they are union, in order to minimize overhead and maximize the profit margin. Corporations have no conscious, unlike small "mom and pop" business.
