Dec 3, 2007 - I tell you that this song really inspires me. I always feel cynical, especially when I am among the rabid anti-communists and anti-anything on the left bigots of this world (many of them have doctorates here in Amerikkka). But this song can turn it all around. I like hearing that there are at least SOME people in this world who think like I do.

Dec 6, 2007 - brilliant

Dec 15, 2007 - To me this song is about the marketing of progressivism, and the loss of the dream as communism failed to live up to its own vision. I'd like to hear Billy's viewpoint on it as written in the 80's and now. Anyone know?

Dec 19, 2007 - =D I love BB's videos haha, absolue legend =] xxxx

Dec 27, 2007 - In the 1980's progressivism of any sort was killed off. That's what I take this song to mean.

Jan 3, 2008 - At live shows he changes the words to suit the mood of the times...the man is a genius

Marxinator Says:
Feb 12, 2008 - He's still an adament socialist, always has been and still is.
westphalianprinz Says:
Feb 25, 2008 - You try being a socialist where I live, and you'll see how necessary it is to have Billy Bragg music every once in a while.

Mar 24, 2008 - Greatest living poet!
CosyDen Says:
Apr 1, 2008 - Beam me up Scotty!
Marxinator Says:
Apr 3, 2008 - I think that, unfortunatley it's the same in most places in the US. We need music like this and Phil Ockes to keep us going, or at least that's how I feel. Solidarity.
westphalianprinz Says:
Apr 3, 2008 - Yes. Phil Ochs, Woody Guthrie, and Joe Hill. Maybe a little Steve Earle.

Purpleleafband Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - Billy Bragg played for a union that was on strike and my dad was in the union.
geusepi Says:
Jul 3, 2008 - the only problem i see is that most people listen to bragg as a cliche rather than a socialist upstart musician/poet and leave it at that, instead of trying to bring back the movement instead of shutting it with the books and listening to guthrie, joe hill, dylan etc. and remebering the good ol days..revival de socialista!
iloveflapjacks Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - If you've got a blacklist, I want to be on it. Revolution is just a t-shirt away.
westphalianprinz Says:
Aug 18, 2008 - Miners strike?
westphalianprinz Says:
Aug 18, 2008 - You're right. Our left has become an intellectual parlor show. What we need is more a connection between the intellectuals and labor. A movement of progressive intellectuals and the working class is the secret to a socialist revival, but it has to explicitly socialist in nature.
Purpleleafband Says:
Aug 25, 2008 - Newspaper Strike
FlowerOfHampden Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - How true do the sentiments in this song still seem? Especially that line about 'Revolution is just a t-shirt away'.
FlowerOfHampden Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - Have you listened to the recordings when he does that? Hilarious!
stringaddict4evr Says:
Dec 28, 2008 - At 2:05 into the video, the sign carried along in the crowd of what appear to be Russians, changes briefly...what is all that about anyway?
