The Walled City is a short film we submitted to the Edmonton International Film Festival's 24/1 2006 Contest. Its about a young woman reading a comic book called "The Walled City" and then daydreaming about what her life would be like if she were a character in the comic. Unfortunately, it wasn't shown on the day of the screening because it was deemed not appropriate for children. Bummer. http://www.myspace.com/blazingvioletproductions

Oct 7, 2006 - ha nice video guys... i am not sure why that wasn't PG though... some shooting i guess... i think they took that "rating" thing a little to seriously. definatly better then some of the ones screened in my opinion.

Oct 7, 2006 - ha ya i was actually thinking about starting a group on here for 24/one people then everyone could actually look at all of them. maybe do some sort of rejudging thing... hahaha not that i'm bitter, but if it could be done again with out the PG rating i think a lot of things would change.

Oct 7, 2006 - though i should add i am a big fan of the one that did win, it was my favorite of the ones that were shown by far.

Oct 8, 2006 - Thanks man, we appreciate it, we didn't hand in our formd on time las tyear and couldn't enter the contest. I personally really liked turkey time. I wasn't able to go to the screening this year but I heard there was a really good drama

Oct 8, 2006 - wow... epic

Oct 9, 2006 - yes and no... the drama was probably the one that got the cine, and the director award. and ya it looked good, but the story in my opinion would have been exactly the same with out the action figures. It felt like they just tacked it onto a pre-existing story. It was a good short, but considering what the stipulation was, i don't think it was very original, and didn't exibit any real creativity. Thanks for the comment on turkey time though.

Jul 24, 2007 - Vera sure talks a lot of smack for having a death ray in her face.
AluminumFoilHatMan Says:
Jul 24, 2007 - You should do a film about a stolen ray-gun that makes people Canadian. Somebody takes it all over the world and starts zapping people, and they become very good-natured, largely content, and astonishingly unproductive.

Jul 24, 2007 - That's because she isn't a very nice person :P

Jul 24, 2007 - She'd probably be happier in Florida, being roughed up by smelly rednecks.

Sep 23, 2008 - The music is fantastic. It reminds of the boss levels in NES games. Did you create with FL?
Budgieboots Says:
Sep 23, 2008 - Hey glad you liked the music! Codie actually made the music with a keyboard and one of those 8 track recorder things and just layered it.
