Oct 14, 2008 - i've recently modified my fender john5 telecaster and putted 2 D-activator in it just like john5 did in with axe.. the sound is just amazing!

ZO120 Says:

Oct 17, 2008 - are the D actvator X's anything like EMGs-could you do a brief comparison?

Fandangothe12th Says:

Oct 19, 2008 - this guys voice is why guitar players shouldnt talk.... lulz =P

monsternoobX Says:

Oct 19, 2008 - nooo! Do not listen to this man! F space is for fenders and modern gibsons and such, in fact most guitars today are F spaced, save reissues of vintage guitars for example. the regular spacing is for older gibson, from the time before they as well changed to the F spacing. I think dimarzio has a guide on their website to help you find out which spacing was used on your guitar.

Oct 21, 2008 - Oh man, this sounds really bad. I have a J5 triple tele with the fender enforcer pickups and they sound awesome ! Dimarzio says John5 is using these now, does anyone know how similar if at all they are to the Fender Enforcer pickups ??? I think Fender stopped producing the Enforcer and I am looking for something similar for my Les paul. Any help would be appreciated

GibsonSGKing Says:

Oct 21, 2008 - i dont like how it distorts the clean channel :-/ but the gain sounds amazing. only problem is its so compressed sounding...

GibsonSGKing Says:

slicer789 Says:

Oct 31, 2008 - that riff from 4:25 or 4:26 is damn awesome

burnitdown01 Says:

Nov 2, 2008 - f space is for a guitar with a floyd rose.

DeathcoreDude Says:

Nov 3, 2008 - mmm the lows lack alot i think, i love the lead sound on , the notes ring very clearly-articulate, but the rhythm lacks abit. i prefer the rhythm on my emgs but the lead sound from my d-activ..

buckethead4life86 Says:

Nov 7, 2008 - great pickup! but are the lows usually that high pitched or is his amp on a high treble setting?

zeemonkey187 Says:

Nov 7, 2008 - the guy who does all these reviews always picks tones similar to these.

buckethead4life86 Says:

Nov 7, 2008 - what should i get: the d activator or the seymour duncan JB TB-4? i cant decided which one to get. i play anything from acdc to MetallicA to Avenged Sevenfold

yaymeZERO Says:

Nov 8, 2008 - that helps in hearing the difference between different manufacturers and the like

toimato Says:

Nov 12, 2008 - get the d-activator. i put some in my jackson rhoads guitar and it sounds fuk'n sweet.

rspao Says:

Nov 12, 2008 - hey i have some question ? what diff. does a pickup with / without a pick up cover contribute to the sound? does it affect the tone if remove the cover ? thanks !

Phreakshow91 Says:

Nov 14, 2008 - i thought active sounds the same as passive?

zeemonkey187 Says:

Nov 15, 2008 - nope. they are more compressed and more distorted

YoelfromNL Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - A cover usually makes the output lower and warmer.

rockerdude29 Says:

Nov 17, 2008 - the bridge is way too trebbley.

stienerfist2 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Something about how they record their reviews makes everything sound trebbly. I think it might be where they are recording or the mics they are using.

rockerdude29 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Know any good dimarzio humbuckers for alternative/heavier stuff,I want my jaguar to be my guitar for heavy distortion, and I want all of my guitars to have different pickups,I already want a super distortion for my strat,I want a pickup somewhere along those lines, not shred and super trebbly and scooped like a vai or malmsteen, and not to low output like a classic.Any help anyone?Oh and a humbucker sized P90,or humbucker that isnt muddy for the neck?

crazybato69 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - EMG 81 all the way!
