The hub of the Islamic world, the largest oil-producing country in the world, the native country of Osama bin Laden, is balanced precariously between the "modern, Western way of life" and tradition. Over-conservative clerics are asking for a return to the roots of Islam. Reformists are pressuring for liberties. The country is changing and its king is trying to keep a balance by satisfying everyone around him. Women who are not allowed to drive cars; reformists who are often jailed for voicing their demands; clerics and the religious police who insist on dictating every aspect of life; Americans who insist on determining the country's oil wealth; The documentary throws light on a society where theatre, cinema and music are forbidden, while executions are a public spectacle. Wealth and oil, human rights, the "free besieged" life of the young, religion and terrorism... as seen through the eyes of ordinary people and the country's VIPs. English Stereo 72 min

Jun 10, 2008 - Its Haram in Islam to be a King, the Quran says there is no King but God and kings bring lots of corruption, immorality and poor ethics, I am not religious but I knew this since I was a kid, so it just proves they are Hippocrates, lairs and thieves and they use religion to keep hold on power

Jun 15, 2008 - Hi people, i am saudi and i am really amazed at saudis trying to glorify Saudi Arabia when they know deep down that it's totally corrupt!! the world respects us now because it depends on the oil wells we have, but say in 2100 oil wells vanish!! we will starve and the world will not give a damn!! all arab countries are all corrupt... so fellow arabs, STOP praising corruption and dictators and START looking forward for democracy.. o bas

Jun 23, 2008 - bring back the Caliphate and the Empire, remove these kings from power,Islam does not allow monarchies and dictatorships!!!we ruled the world between 7th-17th century with One Islamic Empire where the Caliphate always shifted to and ruled from Damascus,Baghdad,Mecca,Amman etc these stupids dictators and kings have divided Islam and they are responsible for the weakening of Islam.

Jun 26, 2008 - many islamic empires in the past -which was the strongest empires in the world- named by families' last name like (amauies empire) and abbasies empire)>> islamic empire will become the strongest empire in the world in the future and the western countries will fall down.. wait and you will see that

Jun 29, 2008 - They are only tolerated in the West because they have the oil we need, and they only tolerate us because they want our money. Crazy religious deluded people, women haters and narrow-minded.

Jul 6, 2008 - MOHAMMED THE PEDOPHILE faithfreedom. org/challenge.htm (remove space before "org") From Abu Dawud, Vol. 2, #2116: "Aisha said, "The Apostle of Allah married me when I was seven years old." (The narrator Sulaiman said: "Or six years."). "He had intercourse with me when I was 9 years old." A marriage in Islam is only guilty with her consent. How can a 6 year young child consent a marriage?

Jul 9, 2008 - Many westerns think of saudi arabia as a great country such as Dubai. Well, Saudi Arabia is really very rich country. Many people has had the prevelege to have an advantage of saudi arabia's economic growth. However, what the westerns do not know is that in saudi many people wish if they can have at least some of the preveleges that people in dubai have. For example, if you had just a little problem with any organization then forget to restore what is yours!" In saudi, only the stronger can rule

Jul 20, 2008 - My cousins live in Saudi Arabia for business purposes. And they told me that it's great in there. Canada and Saudi Arabia are both wealthy but in a totally different environment.

DestructZero Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - I'm an American and I think you touched on something important. It seems that the West backs governments in that part of the world who don't really represent their people. I think this is even more a problem than the Israeli/Palestinian issue (which is important) and is why westerners are disliked in that part of the world. You are correct to demand democracy. ALL men have the God given right of self-government. Peace be with you my friend. I hope we live to see the day your people are free.

Jul 28, 2008 - Hi Muslims. How shudd the Islamic religious and political leaders and officials in Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia that covertly & overtly URINATE & DEFECATE on their (actually, bogus-allah) Islam's allah's Quran 2:256 (of, "there is no compulsion of religion in Islam") and Quran 109 (of "to u ur religion, to me my religion"), be punished by Muslims & non-Muslims - for the most vile treatments & punishments they mete out on ex-Muslims & on Muslims wishing to leave Islam?

holyZesus Says:

Aug 1, 2008 - there is many ways to get what is yours , the simplest and fastest way which no country else on earth have, nor dobai or even sweden , is the king majles that you saw in the video , just go directly to the king himself and tell him whatever you want, even the US president have to wait so they he can meet the king but any Saudi citizen can , anytime he want !

Aug 21, 2008 - Neither the king of Arabia nor the insane Bin Laden is not a leader of Islam. All arabs account for 15% of muslim population. Did you ever ask yourself: Jesus was a such beautiful person who taught loving the enemy, yet a lot of atrocities had and have been carried out in the name of Him. There were torture houses inside Vatican for God's sake! Catholics killed Protestants, protestants killed Catholics, both killed Jews and Muslims. Jesus's teachings is not the cause, yet the damage exists.
