Jun 11, 2008 - well the ending was certainly a first, normally it the male lead heading off to the army and the girl waiting, was a cute twist. But the basic story line of rich jerk male lead and spunky poor girl is very commonthese days. Basically because it made Bright Girl such a Huge hit in 2002 so been copied endlessly every since. But as far I am concerned this was the first and still the best!
