In 2003, the Hubble Space Telescope took the image of a millenium, an image that shows our place in the universe. Anyone who understands what this image represents, is forever changed by it.

Nov 18, 2008 - According to scientists its 13.7 billion years since the socalled "big bang". With an even expansion of space, it should be abt. 27.5 billon lightyears accros!! According to this video we are now up to 39 billion lightyears accross the universe(39x2). And that is if we are in the middle of everything! Are we realy?? Just think abt it. We know one thing for sure, and that is that we do not know much at all!!

Nov 18, 2008 - Sorry, corrections to my comments. Lets say we are on the outskirts of everything. Then according to this video the universe is now at least 78 billion l.years accross. But where are we really? If we are near the middle of the universe, we can multiply 78 by 2 and that means that it is ....bla bla I feel dissy.. seems like the universe has no beginning and no end... we wait for the next theory.

Nov 18, 2008 - very well put together video, and very humbling we really are just like a spec of dust...i think kansas said it best when they said, "dust in the wind...all we are is dust in the wind..." we really are so caught up in every day life that we forget that there is so much out there just above our heads...it is truly amazing to think of all the creations that are out there waiting to be discovered, and every day science discovers new wonders that the mind can barely comprehend...loved the vid!

Nov 18, 2008 - thankyou for useing "theory" correctly, a few people on here are arguing with me about its meaning.
ronny2471 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - We've all established that a scientific theory has an overwhelming preponderence of evidence in support of it, and like infedel said evolution is not in question, only what drives evolution exactly, how and why natural selection actually works, and since we can't recreate all existence in a laboratory over and over again it remains in "theory" not law. that said, intelligent design has nothing, it will never and can never be taken as seriously as the scientific theory of evolution.

Nov 18, 2008 - man up? are you serious now? we're not the ones who need to believe in a false god to make sense out of our lives. We find the sense in our lives on our own. You're the coward, not the rest of us. And by the way, you didn't proove anything. No man can build planets and galaxies indeed. But does that necessarily mean that a god did? No. This is simple logic people seem to lack. You can have faith in god and thats fine. just dont try to proove or disproove his existence. It is beyond pointless.
BlueSpirals Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Uh, nobody was claiming that man created the universe. Oh god why do I even bother to respond to people this stupid.
Skylinesandsunsets Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Just accept that it was man that made god. I'm an Atheist, and proud of it.
Skylinesandsunsets Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Whose god? Ask a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc whose god did all of this, and they will all say "MINE! MINE DID IT! EVERYONE ELSE'S GOD IS FAKE!" Finding life beyond our planet will be yet another nail in religion's coffin. I'm an Atheist, and I'm proud of it. Chances are, when we do come in contact with other civilizations, there will be Atheists among them as well.
