When he said Germans deserved destruction, he didn't mean physical death. He meant that Germany (and Western Europe) no longer had the means to dominate the World and couldn't prevent the US and Russia from becoming the new World powers. Hitler's defeat was Europe's defeat. I respect the guy because he tried to preserve Germany and Europe's hegemony even if ultimately he couldn't.
