A video tribute to many of the fallen rock greats, set to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird. Many of the other tributes on youtube have omitted many important figures, so I have tried to make this relatively complete. Video is large so the picture quality is less than ideal. Feel free to share comments. Features: Duane Allman, Berry Oakley, Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Steve Gaines, Bill Haley, Bob Marley, Bon Scott, Brian Jones, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Frank Zappa, Freddie Mercury, George Harrison, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, Jim Croce, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Bonham, John Entwistle, Keith Moon, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke, Sid Vicious, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Warren Zevon, and many others.

May 26, 2008 - All I'm gonna say is, he isn't a fucking poet, at all, you want poetry, listen to Bob Dylan, I'm not going to start an argument, or give you a huge list of reasons about why he was an asshole, it's been a lot of time since I don't argue about Nirvana or Kurt with someone and I feel better that way, I got sick of it. You have your opinion and I have mine, and absolutely nothing will change it. You see, many people hated him and now loves him, I loved him and now I realized he's an ass...

Jul 31, 2008 - If I could have ONLY one album LP or whatever you youngsters of today listen to from any of the R.I.P. 'ed artists here I would not hesitate to say "Gram Parsons".So the lad who made this great video had me unloading 9 tons of bricks, one ton a minute when imagine at the very end there was no Gram Parson, then he showed up on 8:57-8:59.Best for last!

Aug 8, 2008 - I must say that this video is a bit biased and putting the weight on '60s, '70s and up. I just wonder who anyone can miss frow my POV the coolest of them all, Eddie Cochran, outta this bunch of dead artists. I can accept you missed Bobby Fuller, Ray Smith and even Johnny Burnette but not Eddie, because that man is a LEGEND.

May 26, 2008 - For a while I never understood Kurt Cobain. His music always seemed whiney and monotonous. Then one day I actually listened to the lyrics, and I must say a lot changed. Kurt is a fascinating character to read up on, also. I've gained a lot of respect for him as not only a rock "icon", don't know if he would like being called that, but also just as a straight poet.
