Blake Bashoff (Moritz) and Steffi D (Ilse) from the touring cast of Spring Awakening singing "Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind" live for AJ's Playhouse on San Diego's radio station Channel 933 at the Wavehouse in Mission Beach. They were AMAZING!!! They sang their hearts out to everyone even though many people in the audience were not familiar with the show or theatre in general. Unfortunately, the batteries in my camera died so i only got part of the song. =[ I was very lucky to not only watch Blake and Steffi sing for the radio station, but I got to see the show twice in San Diego and they were incredible! I believe everyone who has been involved in Spring Awakening to be talented performers. Each person is entitled to their favorite performers and casts, and each person should also be allowed to express their opinions. But PLEASE do not argue about which actor/cast is better because there are good things to be said about each. =] But I do appreciate all the comments! This is for personal entertainment purposes only. I do not own any rights to the show

dollashoess Says:

x3rejectspanicx3 Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - Yeah, 9 times...and I love her version of ilse.

indiana102 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I think so too! I love her voice, it's so rich! She looks so small and young lol so when I first heard her sing I was like whoaa!! I love the whole cast, they're amazing!!

Sep 13, 2008 - i've seen steffi twice so far and this recording and her performing 2 ft. away from you is no comparison. her voice is so beautiful and her tone is out of this world. i looooove lauren but this girl is amazing. catch her live during the dark i know well and you will see. ok, my rant is done. haha :)

Sep 16, 2008 - Anyone that is saying the tour cast is better then the original broadway cast is retarded. Can we all remember that spring one 8 tonys including best musical, john gall. got best supporting actor, and john groff is out of this world. And you actually are going to tell me that kyle riabko who can't hit one right note, is better then john groff...okay..

CoSAscuff Says:

Sep 16, 2008 - I know that....and thats really not the reason....its cause they are all talented ....and only three of them have been in the broadway production.

petulalou Says:

Sep 19, 2008 - blake bashoff is incredible! that's all i have to say...seriously, i have seen a lot of shows (broadway and off) and he is one of the strongest actors-and performers, that i've seen. really, he blew me away.

southernbelle13 Says:

Sep 20, 2008 - jgalls has got some competition

xxFelineOfAvenueBxx Says:

Sep 22, 2008 - I gotta agree with you. John Groff's voice makes melt and this guy...not so much

theatrelover559 Says:

Sep 30, 2008 - THANKYOU! the new cast is weaker is every aspect- acting, singing, dances and being professional! I can't understand how anyone can enjoy them! I don't know what the casting directors were thinking...

scotfreak Says:

Oct 4, 2008 - he has a good version of dont do sadness, but the he sings it is a bit show tune-ish. i like gerard canonico the best. but then again it is just my opinion

MuchoMasturbation Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I haven't seen a Moritz that I've liked since than original cast (of course). But Steffi D is great. I really like her as Ilse.

sageparker12 Says:

Oct 9, 2008 - As adorable as Blake is, my ears bleed when he sings. Sorry =[

erhalperin Says:

Oct 9, 2008 - this is the best i've heard Blake do this song! and of course Steffi D is amazing, as always

srchallenge Says:

Oct 14, 2008 - i like the original guy's voice better, but i really think blake captures moritz much better

1891spring Says:

Oct 16, 2008 - yup johnny gallagher was the best moritz i personally adore blake because in order to do musical theatre you have to be an actor first then a singer this is just how blake happened to interpret the character and you feel it when he sings

broadwaybabiiie Says:

Oct 18, 2008 - i ADOREEEEE blake. HES THE BEST i DONT care what anyone says. and that person who said that their ears bleed when he sings..GET OUT OF HERE! go get ur hearing checked. cause your insane! lol

FairyTaleSlayer Says:

Oct 21, 2008 - I'm addicted to the way Blake sings this song. -strict nod-

BroadwayPottergirl Says:

Oct 29, 2008 - I'm afraid i have to partially agree.

BroadwayPottergirl Says:

Oct 29, 2008 - I don't care what anyone says.... Steffi d. Is my favorite Illse.

cannibalcake2 Says:

Nov 4, 2008 - Steffi D.= love. She was practically born to play Ilse. She's the perfect person to play her.

cannibalcake2 Says:

Nov 4, 2008 - Kyle Riabko puts more emotion into the songs he sings for one. Second, his singing voice sounds almost exactly like Jonathan Groff's. Add on the fact that the OBC all look like they're in their mid to late twenties, not teenagers. I don't care how old they actually are, that's how old they look. Excuse me for having a different taste than you do. It's no grounds for you to say that I'm retarded for it.

MalloryHoffman Says:

Nov 4, 2008 - Identical voice???? ok now you're just dumb.
