Feb 8, 2008 - The electricity powers the RET device. It needs only a small amount of electricity to operate. In the geothermal example, the steam from the well will turn a turbine that provides enough electrical power for the RET to crack the water vapor into hydrogen and oxygen, so no external power source is required.

Feb 8, 2008 - I am a bit confused. You claim RET uses only heat and water to crack water into hydrogen and oxygen but in all the diagrams I viewed shows electricity as an input to the process. What is electricity's roll in the process?
